At 56 years old and a qualified computer forensic scientist, security Cleared, I would have given my left arm to work with this organisation, the possibilities just from this video alone I’ve thought of in the last 10 minutes are mind blowing. That would change a military advantage like never before if it could be done. Then the Ghost 4 what I could do with that……. So wish you were in the UK. Before I leave this earth , my wish would be is to have a coffee with Palmer Luckey incredible man.

In regards to imaging one might in many applications want to exploit acoustic signatures and use devices such as acoustic cameras to determine the direction that the sound is arriving (both in azimuth and elevation) and overlay that one a video image. e.g. Google Acoustic cameras can SEE sound FLIR Si2 | Acoustic Imaging Camera for Air Leak, Mechanical Fault, and Partial Discharge Detection Acoustic Imaging - Aeroacoustics | Online Program (Sample Video Lecture) Acoustic Camera - Explanations One can also isolate frequency data that can be used to ID a noise making object and see how it spatially varies as well as it does temporarily. e.g. Google Acoustic Camera Comparison | Giant vs Small Array | HEAD VISOR Advanced acoustic analysis - Tonality | Comparison on different test objects Also sound can travel through smoke, vegetation, fog, clouds, and even around objects or bend around corners.

And what about detecting objects that make little or no sound? Well one can beam form the sound from an array of speakers and then detect the echo from such a target as it reflects those sounds much the same as a radar. e.g. Google Turning Sound Into a Laser But working at ultra sonic frequencies is much easier (and thus cheaper) than in RF.

I might add here a s a bit of a segue that many people talk about the notion of thinking outside "the box". But huts how might one best do that? Well, first one can rather easily see where those walls of the box are by looking at the naysayers who say no, it can't be done or it is a bad idea or it won't work, or (a favorite) it is a solution in search of a problem. There one can start to get an outline of "the box"! But often what the naysayers are actually saying is gee, I lack the imagination to see how to overcome these limitations or even turn them so that they become advantages! For in the martial arts one wins by turning one's opponent's advantages into weaknesses and mitigating any adverse effects of ones own disadvantages. So here is a case study, the MRAP. e.g. Google Why America is Gladly Giving Away their $50 Billion Truck So maybe all is needed is to give it new life is to repurpose the MRAP from a counter insurgency roles to a peer to peer war like the one in Ukraine. So it has several disadvantage, it is tall, ten feet high, it easily tips over, it has then armor that cannot take a AT round or missile. So how might one turn these to be pluses and not minuses or if not that at least neither? So maybe one can turn the MRAP into a UFV, Urban Fighting Vehicle. And since it is tall one might make it even taller by equipping it with a long cherry picker like arm so that it can peek over buildings. As such it might use that ability to hide behind building so as to better avoid exposing itself to direct fire from those nasty AT rounds and missiles. But then that mike raise its CG even more and make it even more prone to tipping over! Bu that can be a plus if one uses that arm as a counter balance! So what might one put atop that arm? Let me save that for another comment, for its is now lunch time! Yeah! Plus this comment has gotten long enough as it is!

OK, continuing in this case study of ways to think outside "the box" one might ask, but why employ a cherry picker arm and not a UAV? So to answer that one might examine the pluses and minuses of each. A UAV can fly much higher than any cheery picker can extend. But a cherry picker can lift much more weight. And so one can use that weight as a counter balance but could also not just add a dead weight but use that weight to armor the elevated platform atop the cherry picker arm, something one cannot do with a UAV. Also, the cherry picker arm might even be able to right a UFV (aka MRAP) if oy dopes tip over. Also it is not an either or in that one can employ both, and armored elevated platform plus UAVs as needed, even tethered ones. e.g. Google New BRITISH Drone Will Change Battlefield FOREVER! And why tethered a UAV? Well it makes it more jam resistant and gives it extra payload in that power can be supplied up the tether line reducing the need to carry large batteries, but the rei another reason as well, the OODA loop. For if one "owns" and asset one can employ it much faster that if one has to ask for it! So if one has to go high the fly! But if one want to poke someone in the eye, make sure they can't easily poke one back, i.e. have adequate armor. And by poke someone in the eye that means getting up close. And that is a feature of Urban combat that one has to do that in unlike open fields and such where one might be able to engage the enemy at a stand off distance s of a kilometer or more away, often in a street fight the enemy is just across the street! Thus the next maxim in combat, one wants to achieve fire superiority. And that is another advantage of the cherry picker arm's ability top carry more weight in that it can carry both armor and lots of fire power as well! But another is getting off the first shot or if not that, a response response. And that is where you at Anduril Industries can really shine in that you have both remote sensors that could set atop that cherry picker arm as well as the software networking system Lattice to speed up the OODA loop... and even more so if you exploit the acoustic signature of threats. For though loud sounds can travel a long ways many sounds don't. But in a Urban combat one tends to be close. So the idea is that one can have various levels of response form report info as FYI, to auto acquire a target and wait for a mother may I to fire, to having a hair trigger mode where say a building could be designated as being under a hair trigger ROE (Rules of Engagement) so that a second after firing is detected from that building it is brought under (devastating) counter fire. As such this might be a real disincentive for teh enemy even to fire their weapon knowing that could very well result in their instant death! And what about the UAV threat? Well, one might make these UFV (aka MRAPS) both UAV magnets and UAV killers (and as such one might unman the UFV and remotely control it). So the UFV could employ some of Anduril Industries anti UAV capabilities. So one can readily see that Anduril Industries has much of the enabling technology to convert a MRAP (that no one seems to want anymore) to a UFV which maybe someone might want! And given as we have seen that in the war in Ukraine the loss exchange ratio tends reduce ever closer to 1:1 in close in urban combat maybe something like a UFV might be just the thing needed, or something along these lines. And one can see here is a use case for employing an acoustic camera, the solution in search of a problem. But problems are many and solutions tend to be few so once one has h=found a solution in search of a problem that might best be seen as a good thing and not a bad one... that is if one is not inclined to be a naysayer! But either way here is an example of how to help one think outside "the box".. that is for those that don't tend to say, box, what box, I don't see nay box!

And one more thing. If one looks at urban combat in Ukraine one sees there is lots of rubble. e.g. Google Ukraine War - Russian BTR-82 In Urban Combat During Battle For Mariupol But we now have UAV mounted LIDAR system that can quickly create 3D maps. e.g. Google Drone LiDAR vs Photogrammetry | Epic Stadium 3D model Also we now have AI that can train itself to deal with various environments where it can model real world environments as digit twins. e.g. Google Nvidia 2024 AI Event: Everything Revealed in 16 Minutes As such it seems that a unmanned UFV could employ these technologies to navigate through urban areas even amidst a high degree of rubble as well as use the 3D models to decide where to go and what top do once one gets there, all coordinated via Lattice with other platforms in the area.

A couple of more thoughts. The cherry picker arm can be used to peek around the corners of building as well as peek p over them. And if the wheeled UFV (aka, MRAP) gets stuck in the debris it might be able to use its cherry picker arm to help it get unstuck. Thus the UFV could be thought of as an autonomous robot with arms (albeit just one arm) and as such benefit from the huge investment we are string to see in robots. Also, whenever we start to see humanoid robot solders appear on teh battlefield, and that day is surely coming, and maybe much sooner than one might think, the UFV (aka MRAP) can also revert to serving as an MRAP, albeit a Robot MRAP, in that instead of just carrying 12 humans plus crew one could pack 24 bots in then in that they don't mind being crowded or get claustrophobia in tight spaces and such. So maybe one might think twice about throwing those old MRAPs away and instead convert them to UFV/Robot MRAPs!
