Meet Güdel U.S., part of a $350 million family owned business based in Langenthal (pronounced LANG en TALL), Switzerland. Founded in 1954 by Alfred Güdel, the company has grown from a single precision machine shop to a global business with operations in more than 20 countries.
Güdel provides customers with four product groups.
The first is components.
Güdel is known for manufacturing a full line of high performance linear motion components including racks, pinions, rails, bearing blocks and gearboxes.
Machine builders and machine tool OEMs build Güdel components into their standard products, confident in the renowned Swiss accuracy and long life cycles of Güdel technology.
Then there are Güdel modules such as gantry robots and TrackMotion units for floor and overhead mounting of robots and automation. Modules are standard products, pre-engineered in a range of sizes and configurations from the company’s own components.
Next are industrial solutions in narrow, targeted applications and industries. Güdel offers full solutions in tire manufacturing, sorting and palletizing; sheet metal press loading and press-to-press transfers; and in powertrain machine tending.
Customer support is a key focus from Güdel. There is a dedicated team of customer service professionals for the total product life cycle. This includes technical support, parts consultants, field technicians and programmers.
Gudel uses linear motion components sourced from the company’s Swiss factories, then fabricates, machines, paints and assembles modules and solutions in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Güdel US is in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where two buildings provide 45,000 square feet of dedicated manufacturing space . Güdel also has a satellite engineering office located in Troy, Michigan.
