This score goes perfectly well with the "heartbreaking leaving scene". Brad Pitt is brilliant and so incredibly handsome. Thomas Newman is an outstanding composer. This movie is incredible and after watching it I just had to get the soundtrack because its marvelous and special. I could never get tired of listening to "Someone else" its my favorite one from this soundtrack.

Finally got around to seeing this movie and im glad I did. The movie was great not perfect, but great. It is overly long, but the cast is terrific, the characters have chemistry between each other and the soundtrack is unbelievably masterful. Definitely an underrated movie and one that critics/audiences were way too hard on.

The scene when Joe shows who he is to her and she sees in his eyes who he is afraid she looks your Joe "yes I'm joe. And he promises her she will have what she had in the coffee shop and he will love her forever and she does love him his goodbye to her and his gift back was giving the man in the coffee shop his life back so she can love and live life... beautiful music that matched this emotion of joes goodbye definitely hits chords and tears

Magnifique film, que de superbes acteurs tellement justes dans l’interprétation de leurs rôles . Je ne me lasse pas de le regarder et à chaque fois je m’émerveille. J’adore Antony Hopkins quel acteur !!! Une posture, un regard ... il ne parle pas mais tout est dit ... il sait transmettre l’émotion. This is a grabber and haunting at the same moment...the moment where you come to know yourself or come back into your right mind. Remember the old lady in the hospital helps death to understand his purpose. The music makes us feel her transition into the afterlife... simply beautiful.

im an action-kung fu-anime movie fan, i hate romantic dramas and rom coms! however i can watch meet joe black all day. its a great movie and even though its a so long i never get bored, even after watching it loads of times. the music i just perfect. gotta love brad pitt and anthony hopkins in this, they are brilliant together. im really not sure whats better, the movie or the soundtrack.

This is one of my favourite films, and 2 thirds of that is Newman, Lubezski and Hopkins. It's so beautiful, dark, seductive and mired in exaltation. This is Tom Newman's best score and I don't say that lightly, it is so emotional, I adore it.

Thomas Newman's use of the piano is beautifully exhibited here at minute 3:45 to 4:00. and backdrop until 4:45. then compare his use of the ivory on his score of 'American Beauty' - track 8 American Beauty & track 18 - Any Other Name. Pure Enjoyment.

I like Claire Forlani; She's portrays the naive, young, lady quite well. Brad Pitt did a fine job, and Anthony Hopkins goes without saying as being one of the most finest actors on earth. I respect your opinion, some movies just aren't for everyone.

+Ezekiel Davis I disagree. One of the things that creates film magic, is MOOD. And "Meet Joe Black" really has a particular mood or atmosphere that one rarely sees in other movies. It's a bit sad and thoughtful mood, but also a warm and life-affirming one, which I think i's due to it's themes: life, death, loss and love; themes that are emphasized by the simple but beautiful story, the cinematography and Thomas Newman's score. I love the ping-pong dialogue between Pitt and Hopkins. This film often feels like a intimate chamber play. Note how many of the scenes throughout the movie that just show us two people talking: Hopkins and his daughter (Claire Forlani), Pitt and Hopkins, Pitt and Forlani, Pitt and the sick black woman, Hopkins and his eldest daughter (Marcia Gay Harden). I love how this movie touches fundamental existentiel themes in a very subtle and discrete way. I love the calmness and the beauty of this movie, and also the downplayed humor.
