Honestly it's an interesting kit. Asetek has done everything they can for the consumer. You can get the high quality full La Prima bundle where nothing is missing, and after that, if you like the hobby and feel the urge to upgrade (the sickness of all sim racers), you can install all the mods.

I've said it before about Asetek's quick release solution. I have to say it about the La Prima series... This is effen genius! I can get the La Prima gear and build it function wise, into an Invicta set? This is a mic-drop on the rest of the simulation equipment manufacturers. Well done Asetek! Hats off.

@@designamk1160 And that is worse than having to buy another wheelbase or pedal set, because upgrading means buying a completly different set? Don't get me wrong, I support used gear just as much as any sim enthusiast, but keeping a pedal set and swapping out a potentiometer for a load cell should be something all pedal sets should be capable of. As is buying a powersupply and a PCB to get the wheel to perform as good as the wheel in the price bracket above it. I don't see how its wasteful to buy a circuit boart, but smart to buy two seperate wheelbases. Please explain that one?

Not a fan of the steering wheel design bit the ecosystem as whole looks amazing. Being able to upgrade your existing hardware is amazing as well. And from the sound of it you can connect other brand peripherals to the base itself which also amazing ! Good job Asetek!

A shame you can’t get the base on its own, but wheel and base combo minus the pedals isn’t too bad. Out of reach for me anyway as shipping to Aus is $330 USD. It was $40 this morning and for some reason it’s increased by 10x 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can buy the La Prima bundle without pedals. Then you can always upgrade the La Prima wheel to Forte later if you wish :)

If you do a proper round GT/Touring car wheel for it and make a bundle for this price, I'm buying it. Because as of now I'm looking at the Logitech Pro or this as an option. I mostly drive GT and touring cars and round wheels are better for those cars, and most cars to be honest. And if you do one with alcantara...You can just grab my wallet and get the money yourselves. ;)

Completely flawed by the exposed pins on the quick release that will be broken. How you could make such a huge design fault is beyond me. Surely you have seen how many problems Fanatec has had with these exposed pins. If you have any sense you will recall this and change this ridiculous quick release system and use a standard like simagic and Moza. So many people are going to break these exposed pins. Who came up with the ridiculous idea of switching out motherboards and PCBs as a way to upgrade a wheel or base ??? Are you honestly suggesting untrained people open up high torque servo motors and mess about with the electrical system inside ? You have got this completely wrong.

Yes we know exactly how many people are having issues with broken pins. That is why we are using pins that are spring loaded and will not break even if you push them all day long ;)

TLDR: Asetek should've made their first most basic bundle inverted pedals and circular wheel rim instead of fancy super professional gear. The full version: One thing, Asetek feels to be thinking niche/ F1/ race cars/ hyper cars more than they are thinking main stream/ driving simulator/ road cars/ farming simulator... etc How do I know? OK: When you are a consumer who want to buy your first and only sim gear, off course you won't start with F1 wheel and up right pedals, you'll buy inverted pedals and circular wheel, because they can simulate 99.9% of what you might drive in real life and the possibilities are so versatile: Drifting, Rally, Touring, Track Day, HISTORIC, Touring, Road Cars and simulators for normal every day cars for example Assetto Corsa... even ridiculous stuff that you don't think about now, like GT7, BeamNG. Drive, Farming Simulator, Flight Simulator, My summer Car...

We are a racing company - that's what we do and we are not trying to hide that. In fact we believe it is pretty obvious :) If you want to simulate being a farmer, your are right. That's not what we do. We cannot please all and we are not trying to. That being said, there will obviously be many more wheels coming in the future. Formula, LMP, GT, GT3, round, D-shape etc. etc. Finally - there will be wheels from 5-6 other manufacturers supporting our wheelbases, so the variety is plentyful.
