"Until next time...this is where the catchphrase goes." I'm dyin'! Hey, guys. I paused 10 minutes in, watched Andric's whole YT channel, subscribed, then came back here. Great stuff.

Thanks for joining me on the pod! Looking forward to seeing what you make this year Glad you’re bringing your talents to KZbin. You’re gonna have to show me that clean line you did on El P too. I got demolished when I tried it a few weeks ago 😂

Loving all the episodes so far Mitch. Love the advice on managing family time with cycling. I’m also trying to find my balance still with my wife and work and cycling.

For the century - I take a banana and some flapjacks for the 1st hour, then drink mix, gels & energy bars for the rest of the ride, but with a stop at a cafe around 60 miles in for lunch (with cake for the carbs, honest!). I always try and make sure there is somewhere I can stop at around 85 miles if I feel I am needing more. Oh and I did my 1st century on a hybrid! Anyway enjoying all the podcasts, peace from Scotland :)

Every time someone from the UK describes taking "flapjacks" on a ride, I try to picture how well a fresh stack of pancakes would hold up in my jersey pockets, and whether I should include butter and syrup as well. :D
@davebarrett235528 күн бұрын
@@StacyODell Heh, I didn't realise it was a UK thing :) We also have 'tablet' in Scotland which is a great ride food, but I had guessed no one would know what that was!

I just got a trainer and zwift for the first time last week and it's been super fun. I'm lucky to get on the bike once a week, but i rode 5 times this week. and it's perfect for when the air quality is bad, which it often is here in LA

Loving the Pod, I live in South Florida and have been documenting some of my rides on my channel, but would love to join you all and experience LA cycling.

Thanks man! LA cycling is worth the trip imo. Lemme know if you head over this way

Kudos to anyone who is doing as much riding as each of you have to do to be on a podcast like this/host a podcast/have a KZbin channel. I’m in the ever a beginner stage and I am just riding for pleasure and the contribution it gives to my fitness. I hope to get up to Griffith Observatory when the weather gets warmer, but it’ll most likely be on my a e-bike. Do either of you have opinions on E bikes?
@MitchBoyer28 күн бұрын
Thanks for listening! I've never tried an e-bike beyond the pedal assist city bikes... but I do remember how daunting riding up to the observatory was when I first started. It took me a couple of rides, each a little longer than the last, to get to the top. Take it at your own pace, and I think you'll be surprised at how far you get in the long run 🫡

You absolutely will get shit for saying LA is cold lol. I rode 100km in 70kmh wind today and 4 degrees Celsius in Ireland 😂

Very interesting that one day a week for family is considered enough
@MitchBoyer23 күн бұрын
I think the point was to highlight one day dedicated solely to family without any cycling. Andric spends time with his family throughout the week, not just on Sundays.
@ShreddyPendergrass19 күн бұрын
Trust me, I’d have no family if I only gave them one day 😅

lol, it doesn't get down to 29 in Los Angeles winter riding. I've been getting blasted on the Marvin Braude by direct sea wind in the middle of the night for over 20 years I don't think it's ever gotten to the low 30s before. Bit of a stolen valor there.
@MitchBoyer25 күн бұрын
I used to ride when it in single digits in NYC and I’ve become so soft here that mid 40s feels the same 😂

Don’t know why but la cyclists rub me the wrong way. As with most of LA I feel like they’re very into superficial aspect of it, the looks and instagram

Cycling podcast but the first question is about basket ball. Ooooooffff.... 👎🏾👎🏾
@MitchBoyer28 күн бұрын
Eh, I don't mind, honestly, I was kind of excited to get that question. I like showing cyclists as a full person. From the outside it can look like every person in Lycra is the same. Andric and his friends are into basketball, so he got questions about basketball. Thanks for listening, hope you found something to enjoy in the other parts of the episode :)
