Always generous of you to include other enthusiasts who are passionate about their gear and not always having the latest, greatest, trendiest, etc. It is so important for all to understand that everyone hears differently; music, room, gear, and most important....Their Ears! It goes on and on. Very cool. F

Hello Michael- You sir have great taste in audio gear and have a very nice system. It's cool that you record onto the reels from your CD's, I still like watching the VU meters and the tape running at 15 IPS on an old Crown machine. I have a pair of McIntosh MC75 mono amps and a McIntosh C22 preamp, they are made not far from where I live in upstate New York. I used to have a pair of La Scala's from the 1980's, very nice sound.

Now to me, this is a wonderful video. I know every single piece of equipment he showed and I love it all. Even though he didn't talk about any audio philosophy or big picture thoughts on HiFi, his enthusiasm for great sound shows through, even just naming off the pieces he has in his system. I love it.

Steve, thanks for introducing me to my long lost brother. I can tell by his analysis of what he has and why he has it that he must be my slightly older sibling. While I don't call it "old school", McIntosh has always been my consummate desire and, like Mike, I wanted it as a youngster and purchased it as an oldster. While I opted for the Forte II, the LaScala was neck and neck until the very end. I am not sure what it is, but given the number of people who have made the connection between McIntosh and Klipsch, there must be something more than just chance involved. Looks like Michael has found happiness...He 'wants' what he 'has'. Wish everyone could be that fortunate.

Beautiful system! I’ve always wanted MacIntosh components but I’m not quite there yet .... I did get a pair of La scala AL5 in March of ‘23 and they absolutely fill the 1500sqf of room I’m using them in with their amazing neutral sound ! I’m running them with a leak 230 and at 75wpc it has plenty of power for these easy to drive speakers, as well as compliment their mid century modern design for a very cohesive look and sound !

I love my LaScalas, had them since 1994 what wonderful speakers. I still have my old Marantz gear and just can’t find myself investing more in my system, but I enjoy having speakers that make normal folks go wow 😃
@DutchmanAmsterdam Жыл бұрын
You might want to try a simple good tube amplifier, from just a few hundred dollars, 2 Watts and up are fine, 10 Watts is more than needed, and find out the speakers can sound incredibly much more beautiful than any common transistor amp can provide. Real class A transistor will sound great too but a little cold compared to tubes. But those transistors are kind of expensive.

Hi Sir; Hope you'll enjoy your wonderful system for decades to come. May I respectfully suggest protecting your beautiful La Scalas from what seems to be sunlight showing in the video? Thanks a lot Steve for another interesting and enjoyable presentation. Blessings for y'all.

I see in the comments, many viewers are enjoying this format... meeting guys who are into their audio systems with your casual friendly style and getting a tour of their systems and sharing their enthusiasm. Guys with real-world systems are just as interesting as money-no-object systems... maybe more... seeing where they have spent money and where they have held back to keep within a budget. I have speakers I built with my son, so even if I end up with high end source and amplifier components, the speakers stay... everyone has a story.

I bought my LaScala ll's used but in brand new condition for $900.00 last year. Haven't even hooked em up yet because I don't have a place of my own, so they sit in my storage waiting to delight my soul with music. Can't wait to set them up...soon🤞
