About Supa Girlz:
The series is set in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood and focuses on the incredible dance squad at Miami Northwestern High School and their one-of-a-kind coach, Mrs. Traci Young-Byron aka @Supa_BlackGirl.
The G-Girls are a Miami institution, and like the school’s football team, they go on to some of the biggest stages in the world. From dancing at the Super Bowl, to Coachella, to the floors of NBA Arenas, to Alvin Ailey’s dance company. Traci and the team are also a fixture online, constantly being reposted by outlets like The Shade Room and Baller Alert, and by celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Viola Davis.
We have seen countless series about high-achieving male athletes, but when it comes to female teams the emphasis tends to be on drama and not on excellence. We wanted to change that with SUPA GIRLZ.
