Your mother's personality is infectious. She is such a joy - as are your children and you. 💛I really enjoyed watching this video & I look forward to seeing more. I am a new subscriber currently residing in Dallas, TX who is planning to repatriate to the continent in the next 3-4 years. My husband & I are visiting Uganda in September on behalf of our nonprofit organization, Eye For Afrika. This will be the first of many until we set our roots permanently. Thank you and your Mother for sharing her story. I watched both episodes and will watch the ones with your Father too. I identified with a lot of Mum's experience. I was born in Jamaica and moved to the UK to join my parents at 10 years old. I also became a teacher, art historian, artists, designer and plan to publish a book of my poems. I love studying history ... especially the history of our people on the African Continent and Diaspora. My introduction to African culture came through school friends from Ghana and Nigeria. I also had cousins who wore Dashikis in the 1970s and stirred my interest in African fabrics and jewelry. Our generation from the Caribbean were exposed to a lot more than the generation before who didnt travel much, not even between islands. You touched on the cultural differences between Grenada and Ghana but when we all arrived in the UK from different Caribbean islands there was a "thing" between people from different islands too. Small islands versus Big islands. 😅 One of the blessings from the mass migration during the Windrush years and after, was the opportunity for people from different Caribbean islands and different African countries to come together in the UK. Your parents are proof of that. May your family always be blessed. 🙌💛

Lovely conversation with Mom. Plus you are blessed to have a Grenada Mother because my best friend in 80's till 1990 when l was living in London was a Grenadian, his name is Keran. We worked together at Gate Diner Restaurant as Line Cooks in Nottinghill Gate close to Ladbroke Groove, He made me study the whole King James Bible before moving to USA in 1990. Plus, l grew up in Kumasi "Ashanti New Town" in 60's till my family moved back to Nigeria in 1971. l left Nigeria in 1983 at the age of twenty to England but now live in DC ------ Osollo.

@@ToTheMotherland Wow! I’m Liberian with family from America and the Caribbean. My ears perked up at 4:01 when your mother said “Muma” because that’s what my mom called her grandmother. If you could share the name of your uncle, I might know of his descendants, if any remained in Liberia, and could assist you in that direction. I am currently researching my ancestry through 23andMe. I was able to find the Ship ledger with all the names and ages of family members that sailed to Liberia in 1868.

My Grenadian fam, Hi there👋 I literally stumbled upon your channel while rewatching the 2020 end-of-year drone footage of @Nezzle Fam. Your mum is hilarious; I was in tears and stitches at the chicken story, I can relate. Glad she didn't commit murder on her aunty😂🤣😭 Please, do the Ancestry DNA reveal, I am also on a quest to trace my Ancestors back to Africa. I do have the Scottish last name on both my mum and dad's sides of my family. However, based on the little research I've already done; I believe the bulk of my ancestors came from either Nigeria/Ghana/Benin areas of Africa; that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I have also been contemplating and looking into relocating to my ancestral homeland. Awaiting for my Ancestry DNA result to be processed in order to make a more solid decision. I live in Canada, from Marli, St. Patrick's, and SDA as well. I believe your grandmother might know my mum and possibly my grandmother. my last names are Alexis on mum's side and Grant on daddy's side; both are Scottish origin last names. I may never know or find out my original African last name, but I'll try. Thanks for the interview mum and please, do come back and share with us. I'm now subscribed. 💯🙏👏♥I absolutely enjoyed and loved the interview with your mum, God bless always

Awesome, awesome conversation with your mom. Made me miss mine. That chicken story was part hilarious part traumatic. It is amazing how profiund that singular experience made such a big impact on her dietary choices. I have no evidence but it looks like her dietary choices have a huge part in how young she looks. I have my own experience with first tasting wild mushroom when visiting the village in Zimbabwe. I was maybe 4 or 5 and i absolutely hated it and vomited. Your mom looks like the people of Gonaives, Haiti. Those are descendants of the Ewe people of Ghana. I also know that there's a strong Igbo presence in Grenada. I would love to find out your results are.

Hey Naomi, a lot of African men think most women that they meet in the UK come from Jamaica. The unfortunate thing is some Jamaican women seem to be supper ASSERTIVE so these African men feel hesitant to approach them. Can you ask your mum how to break that barrier,
