The next generation of this would be one in which this gets an arm with grasping capabilities as well as some abilities to help handicapped people get around. Imagine this concept extended to adding these AI capabilities to a wheelchair and allowing people who are otherwise immobile to be cared for. I have a disabled family member who would love one of these with those capabilities. I'd bet in the next 5 years we see an explosion of these sorts of technologies revolutionizing disabled and hospital care for patients and day to day life in general.

This robot is like what the first cell phone was; they were cool, they didn't have many functions though and were not really all that useful, but look at all the things you can do with a smart phone today, so imagine the next generations of this robot in like 10-20-30 years. Eventually it'll be able to go up stairs and interact with other appliances to make you food and bring you drinks and probably a million other things.

If wonder if this is technology based on the Dykstraflex. In case you're wondering, look up "ilm dykstra". Obviously, this is lightyears ahead (no pun intended). This robot can be taught where a space is by just recording the path it takes. Plus, I'm sure it uses proximity sensors to avoid objects and to detect where certain objects are supposed to be in correlation with the path it takes.

The thing is that this is a cool and ‘fun’ item to have but at the same time it’s pretty useless. I mean it can make video calls and charge your phone, pretty sure the new Samsung phones can do the same and they are less than half the price. It’s just one of those things that are really fun to mess around with at the start but in a couple of days you just forget about it and barely use it.

My idea was to make a device like this with a swivel head that has two cameras so that you can invite anyone with a VR headset into your house and they would be able to control the movement of the robot. to advance the tech. imagine a centaur bot for when you're busy gaming or fixing a car or bike, it can grab your food delivery order from the door or grab you a beer out the fridge or toilet paper from a different bathroom or if you hear a noise downstairs you can send it to check for burglars etc. current form factor is useless but the tech is useful, it just needs some Boston Dynamics legs and arms.

IT's absolutely insane all the tech Justine owns. Actually it's just insane how technology has progressed so fast lately. I'm not sure whether I like it or not but I'm intrigued. Actually I'm just commenting on this just to find an excuse to type on my new 2019 MacBook 15 Pro.
