Can I recommend watching a video by Climate Town on Carbon footprints? It's called "Why your 'climate footprint' is a scam" and explains how the idea of the Carbon Footprint was created as a marketing scheme by BP to shift blame from large polluters to the individual and that much of your climate footprint is unavoidable thanks to these polluters being involved in everything from urban development and the over reliance on cars to food packaging. Offsetting your climate footprint is admirable in theory, but simply shifts blame and creates guilt in a system where the individual can't make a meaningful difference anyway. These polluters need to be held accountable, not the people living in their systems; the idea of a climate footprint has successfully kept companies like BP from getting pilloried by public opinion and consequently from meaningful steps being taken against climate change. Worth a watch!

I can totally agree with the madness that comes with goats. My family had several goats (I believe 7 at once, 12 in total over the years) when I was growing up. In this one house we lived in at the time, my stepdad had built an on-ground tree house in the backyard and one day my mom was mowing the lawn and made a loud sound going over some gravel which spooked a goat. So the goat ran into the tree house and jumped through a window, shattering it, to get out and went on as if nothing happened.

I love goats, they are so chaotic. Beetle is the cutest. I went to a camp as a teenager that had a goat named Daryl. One time we found her in an old barn and she found a mini bulletin board with a package of tacks, which she was trying to eat. Very sweet and would sometimes walk into the dining hall.
