I honestly like how they put the washer and dryer hookups in the bathroom. I think that’s where they belong and not in the bedroom. But if I bought one with washer and dryer hookups in the bedroom, I wouldn’t care. But that’s my opinion.
@InfernosReaper4 жыл бұрын
I'd kinda like the washer and dryer to be accessible outside the bathroom when there's only 1 bathroom. I spent some of my childhood like that it was terrible, because you'd often have to wait for someone to finish something in order to do what you needed to. Of course, if I had to pick between bathroom and bedroom, definitely would put it in the bathroom, especially like in this setup. Laundry machines get way too loud to be able to use in a bedroom comfortably. With this one not only is it *not* in the bedroom, but it has an extra layer of space and another wall between it and the bedroom.

I agree, we bought the JX450 which is similar but has the toy hauler. We are in the process of painting the wallboard. We cant paint the dark wood cabinets and they dont sell it with white cabinets so this was the only option to make it a bit more modern. That awful wallboard is from the 70's yet most manufacturers seem to love it.

@@1coolvideo Maybe you can :) I know my limits. Flat surface i can manage, but all the wood detail would be a mess. I think what will happen is if we still have the unit in 2-3 years we will hire someone to do the job right, rather than take the hit and buy a new one. it will feel like new.

We just went to Elkhart IN and got the MORryde independent suspension and disc brake upgrade on our '17 Keystone Avalanche. The custom factory install has more welds to the frame than DRV installation does. DRV installs the suspension in house and sends each unit to MORryde for wheel alignment prior to full body paint. The new suspension is awesome, I don't feel the RV going over bumps in the road any more. The brakes make us feel much safer especially in heavy stop and go traffic. It's too expensive for those that don't use their RV much, but we have been full time for over 2.5 years. We were pleased to get a 10% winter discount (I think this is available until the end of February)

Great review as always. This is my #1 choice if I decide to upgrade. This is extremely well built, considering the 21K GVWR in a 39 foot rig. I like the single gray tank with it's own flushing port. My only comments, is that I don't prefer cabinets above the bed, and I would like to see open shelving or shoe holders in the very front of the bedroom closet.

We bought our first RV - a 2019 DRV 36RSSB3 - in January. We started full-timing last month. I don't think I'd consider anything other than a DRV if and when we change RVs in the future.
@johnbates97534 жыл бұрын
We bought a 2008 36RKSB3 new and full timed for 5 years and loved the experience and will do it again when I retire for good in about a year. I love the DRV products, but one VERY important thing to consider....replacement cost for everything. Things like refrigerator, ac units, water heaters, roofs, etc., they don’t last forever, they don’t even last close to anything in a home. If you move your unit frequently, keep in mind you are putting it thru an experience similar to a small earthquake every time you do so. My best advice is to keep good tires on it, always perform preventative maintenance on EVERYTHING that you can, and keep some money set back, so if there is an emergency repair that is not covered under warranty, it will not hurt the pocketbook as bad. I will probably purchase another DRV, but will try and find one about a year old, previously owned, that will bring the price down and make it more affordable. My best of luck to you, and hope you enjoy full timing as much as we do!

i was just thinking as a starter home for a first time buyer, a used version of this would be an economical way to go but this will lose value over time whereas a proper home on a foundation will gain value. i think the money saved in an rv could be more than the value gained in a home on foundation.

I'd make some small changes to the living space, like moving the sofa bed out of the alcove to where the theater seating's at and just getting rid of that part, since deploying the sofa bed tends to obstruct the theater seating too much. That alcove would be better served for some additional storage or even just as a nice place to sit and draw. Overall, though, I really like it. There's a lot of potential with it, even as shown.

I would love if some of these RV tour videos focused on the big picture instead of walking through and reading off a list of components. This RV we’re more awesome to see the big outside picture from multiple angles. Then show the bathroom as bright sunny and spacious. I don’t think anyone is buying one of these because of drawer pulls and pocket doors. I want to focus on the dream of owning a big beautiful RV. I want to think what it would be like to drive it to the coast and setting it up with me and the kids and cooking a big breakfast, or sitting outside by a fire at night. Just a thought

Hi Big - I noticed in this model, a reasonable "air gap" between the range and an adjacent cabinet/fridge/wall. Something we have noticed with our first RV, we are foodies and like to cook - and is also being much more convenient while traveling. Using the range for any length of time at all starts to heat up the side of the pantry, only about 3 or 4 inches from the cooktop. This seems like a large safety concern, and as we have been shopping for our next rig, it is almost impossible to find something with counter space on both sides of the range. I'll also add that it is incredibly difficult for food prep with minimal space. Thoughts?

I am used to the fact that my sense of taste is vastly different from JD's and the majority of the 5th wheel market, I think that paint job is gawdy and ugly, tastes differ. I am confused that the same guy I have seen be very particular about the frame coating process on trucks has no problem with all the rust on this high end RV. The hitch, the slide mechanisms and the frame are all showing massive amounts of rust and finish that is already worn off.

Only comment is that Dometic 3-zone air system.. We have that on our current camper and HATE IT... Maybe for modern techies it's fine, but for somewhat older folks, that thing is way too overly complicated. Why not just have 2 (or 3 depending on AC unit numbers) simple thermostats with on/off and temp settings for either heat or air? DRV makes a seriously good, higher-end camper and they're built extremely well...

I'll bet the F-450 would struggle to pull that fully loaded. You almost need a Class 8 truck for that coach.
@joeschmoe60215 жыл бұрын
My F450 pulls the JX450 version of this unit pretty well but you have to be patient with on-ramps. The brakes on the trailer are very strong so stopping is not an issue. I seriously considered a Class 8 but: That is not a very useful vehicle when not towing (which is one of the benefits of 5th wheel vs diesel pusher), and the overall length further restricts what sites you can get into. Still thinking about it.
@dedalliance15 жыл бұрын
People that run hot shot trucks pull that much weight all over the country no problem. Also have to think, if you're buying this for full time living it's going to be parked 99% of the time until your job dictates you moving or you're going south or north for the different seasons. Unless of course you're wanting to retire and travel the country and go to a new place every week, at which point that would be a lot of towing, but the truck should handle it.
