@Frida Pavlaski Horses were a cavalry's best friend too. But they also end up on the table during sieges and when cut off from the main army. Did you know that those cute little chihuahuas were an aztec traveller's meal on the run? They bring along a pack which gets eaten one by one along the way. Some Filipinos usually use extra dogs for "pulutan" on special occasions. A sort of finger food eaten during a drinking spree that always ends with everyone intoxicated and passed out in very interesting positions. The last man standing gets to clean up the place, so there's usually none left standing.

I know you already know this....but when you spoke of the kindness of the people there....I also find this to be true of your former home ( and now mine) Portugal! The curator at a museum we toured actually offered us her brand new car to use at will before we had a car, not her older car because it could break down, lol the brand new one. When entering a shop to look for sage for our recipes the shop keeper said they didn't carry it but she had some in her garden she could bring us, The kindness is neverending. I don't feel like I'm a bother, it warms my heart that there are still people that make time for others. Thank you for sharing the good in people.

Yes , want to let you know about travelling in mindanao that you have to be careful there really . I am from mindanao and i know about there . There are many different kinds of people and tribes you will meet in there . When you go somewhere in mindanao just don't go beyond remote places there . There happens before where kidnappings used to be with foreigners ( touch wood ) and please be very careful !!! Don't go on your own really .

It's interesting how you shared about feeling accepted where ever you travel there...Philippines has a rich history of the "open door" policy. A TV company (Welsh lang) that we did a bit of work for once wanted to film in a local greengrocers. They rang in advance to ask permission and they said no. They didn't want the inconvenience. And that wasn't even an independent vlogger - that was a bone fide TV company!!
