Meet Ryan: My Wells Fargo journey began as a teller

My name is Ryan Dang Hong. I work in diverse segments, representation and inclusion for Wells Fargo. Let me tell you how I got here. My journey at Wells Fargo started back in California, and I have my mom to thank because when I was going to college, she took me to a local Wells Fargo branch, and the banker at the time told me Wells Fargo is a great place to work. And 21 years later I am still here. I was in the branch, the same branch for eight years as a teller and as a banker. I really had the opportunity to help our customers Through all their life events. After being full time at Wells Fargo for a few years, I thought that moving to a totally different coast, would help me grow personally and professionally. In Charlotte, North Carolina, I really had the opportunity to find myself to get embedded into my own Asian culture. And really changed the way I viewed being a branch manager and how and we can help our customers and our communities at the same time. journey at Wells Fargo took me from California to North Carolina and now in New York City for the past seven years. I try to stay very active. I have a dog that I love, love, love. To me, Well Life is bringing my full, real, authentic self to work and being able to contribute to our vision. DE&I is a business imperative. And that's why we do have our diverse customer segments team as well as our internal teams. Wells Fargo is a great place to work. In my current role, I am a business execution manager for diverse segments, representation and inclusion. My favorite part of the job is being able to influence others. I am a mentor as well as a sponsor. And part of that is helping other employees grow and flourish within the company. As a mentor once said to me. Practice, practice, practice to make progress. And to me that really means to continue challenging myself. And to continue learning and growing.
