Meet Shalini, a resident of Chandigarh who grappled with type 1 diabetes since childhood. Her condition hindered her ability to play and enjoy life like other kids, often leading to missed school and exams due to frequent hospitalizations.
She cleared the exam to study medicine but unfortunately had to drop out as over time, the impact of diabetes extended to her kidneys, resulting in serious damage. In a transformative turn of events in 2023, Shalini underwent a pancreas and kidney transplant at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Today, free from diabetes, she’s studying to be a lawyer and has embraced a healthy and fulfilling life in style!
