I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I have an appointment to see the oncologist to see what treatment he prefers to do. My surgeon said that I will probably be doing both radiation and chemotherapy treatments. I'm not going to give up and going to fight this and win

How has it been for you man I hope good, my wife recently got diagnosed with stage 4 she’s 27 and we have 2 kids, we are on our way to chemo for 3 month to bring the cancer down enough for surgery but it’s scary

My first symptoms of colorectal cancer.....I was 49-50 years old. I began having a strange pain during intercourse.... lower left side of my pelvic area. I was almost completely occluded by the time I had surgery. I was stage III.

I want to help others who have cancer and bring awareness and education about the disease to their family and friends because there are a lot of people who are ignorant about the disease because they don't take the time to educate themselves about it.

People aren't interested or "ignorant" as you say , about something that doesn't concern them . They don't GET interested until it affects a family member or close friend . I personally had no interest in it until I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer myself ! . Scans up the whazoo , chemo for 6 weeks, for 3 days straight at a time , radiation , and finally surgery . My cancer removal was in December of 2019 and as of right now (I had a blood draw today) I am free of it. I hope you've had a successful conclusion as I did .

@@welcometoorefuge Did the chemo work in your case ? My mom was given targeted therapy (5 cyccles), but then she suffered with fistula causing the urinary bladder damage..doc had to stop the chemo and he advised surgery..hope she gets better after the surgery..

Otillia Rendle I don’t know what her particular treatment was but if it’s stage 4 it depends on where and how much it’s metastasized . Usually surgeries, possible ileostomy or colostomy bags, chemo, and radiation. Stage 4 colorectal cancer can be very tough to survive but it can be done.

@@quickgirl80 her latest report after treatment of chemotherapy that her cancer got complete remission. Now waiting for maintenance therapy....doctor suggested few cycle of chemotherapy of lighter dose before putting her on observation. What I understand that there is no golden rule at this stage of her cancer as it is stage IV cancer even though no organ is involved so far baring distance lymnodes. So keep fighting with the situation as it unfolds with no visible plan for long .
