qigung I totally agree, I’m 14 and have been practicing art and drawing techniques all my life and am really good, but these so called art “prodigies” don’t have any actual skill yet are making a lot of money. I guess it’s just those people who have a bad taste in art, because of you give that girl a pencil, she would probably just draw a smiling face or something, but her “painting” look like a mess and there is nothing “ abstract “ about them, so I don’t understand y they are called prodigies when clearly there are other people who actually practice and have artistic skill.

This is the thing with people’s judgement and what makes it sad, when people see abstract paintings, that’s what they define as “art” but when they see drawings from amateurs who spent hours, days, weeks or even years just to finish that one drawing but people don’t appreciate it for the time and effort that was put in it yet here are people who draw simple shapes and splat colors and it’s already good enough for some or most people,i’m not disrespecting the artist who draw abstact paintings but what i’m trying to point out is that people don’t give fair attention to the different art categories like statues, anime, cartoons, carpet or cloth designs etc. and it’s not going to give artists self confidence but only let them down or even stop them from following their dreams and passion, age or experience doesn’t matter when it comes to art, what makes an artwork so beautiful,is the time, effort, and love that was put into it.

Why can't a professional artist saw my colour scribbles when I was 2? :( I threw out all of it already 😔😔

It’s only “art” cause the parents milked it dry

Pollock was famous for creating a new art technique (action art) and Picasso was famous for conveying his emotions through art. I don't see why this child is getting so much attention for literally just splashing paint onto a canvas with no thought behind it whatsoever..

this is crazy! When I was 2, I swear I could do the exact same kind of art. “Prodigy”? That’s just a normal 2 year old! She just painted colours? Which would take like 2 seconds?? Any 2 year old do that!

My 2,5 year old kid loves to paint (he started when he was ~7 m old). I think he's great with colors and he clearly has a concept. I frame the best finished pieces and put them on my bedroom wall as a proud mom. But he's just a kid who likes good color combinations, not a prodigy to milk. 🤦♀️
