I’m 40 and I play rocket league with people who are younger and older than me. It’s a fun game to have a laugh with your buddies and escape the work, eat, sleep, work life. As much as I would like to grind and get to the higher ranks I can’t see myself ranking passed C1 just don’t have the time it takes to get it. Rocket League is a game anyone can have fun with but i play with chat off most of the time getting toxic spammed all game is fuckin lame, but at least it’s not every single game. I hit GC after 1,200 hours. At 500 hours I was low c2 on console, after switching to pc and five hundred hours later I hit GC. What I did was focusing on spending most of my hours on training packs that help you get good at the basics... I also watched A LOT of pro gameplay and tutorials/tips and tricks videos since I started playing the game.
