Meet the Alaska Zoo’s Brown Bears!

Spring has arrived and Alaska Zoo brown bears Jake, Oreo and Izzy are awake! Jake is the zoo’s oldest resident at age 39, an orphan from Kodiak Island, AK. Oreo is 23 years old and was orphaned in a wildlife poaching situation near Mt. Susitna, AK. Izzy is 11 and has mother was killed by a male bear in 2010 near King Cove, AK.
