Absolutely! It’s incredibly awesome to have the original British releases restored, but these US releases really help complete the story!

Nice comparison! I would have preferred those who designed this keeping the original photo tones of the album cover, the black and white shading is classic. World famous cover and photo that was an important part of shaping their image. First impressions are everything. I don't have an original era recording to compare this one to. The tweaking of the sound range is nice that they did that. Good video. Thank you.

They are very similar. Obviously 60 years is hard to be 100% accurate with the potential loss of original elements. As for sound, these were easy upgrades with the advancements in disc pressing techniques!

Thanks for this great review. I got the blue vinyl and love it. I also picked up the Second Album and Beatles 65. I will play them soon. My hearing is not the best, and my understanding of the sound differences is limited. When you played the short clips from 1964, 2014, and the 2004 CD, they sounded alike to me. Most times, I don't really notice differences in old and new masters. Again, great video. Take care.

Great presentation of the meet the Beatles target exclusive blue colored album. I do have the stereo and mono box sets that came out in 2019 and the US albums 2014 box and also the capital albums the one that came out in 2004 the CD one. I didn’t have no idea that they used the 2009 UK in mono box set the CD version to use on the 2014 box set. To be honest, it doesn’t matter what really matters is that I have all the recordings from The Beatles.

You have the best of the bunch for sure! Those 2014 CDs look wonderful and compliment the 2009 mono box set CDs, but the 2004 Capitol Albums sets faithfully use the original US master tapes as their source.

I would have loved to see these released as double albums. One disc mono and the other stereo. A gate fold for all the info printed instead of a cheap paper insert. I bought Meet the Beatles and Something new and was really underwhelmed w SN. Very lifeless and flat however I was pretty pleased w Meet the Beatles much like your opinion. The CD version called the Capital years vol 1 is still the best version to me but of course its not vinyl BUT still in its own write (ha ha) is a smart package down to the little cover reproduction and most importantly the songs all have the American Dave Dexter mixes.

Greetings! First off, you did a very well thought-out and knowledgeable review and it is one of the best I've seen. But, here's the thing......I really don't get how you kids can be this interested. Sure, when you look at today's pop music, the only choice is to go with the old stuff, but what's with the interest in this? I fully admit to being a grumpy old man, but these albums deserve to be forgotten! I had every one of them as they were released over a half century ago and LOVED them. A decade later, when we could get our hands on the actual UK versions, Dexter was no longer relevant! It became obvious that these were inferior products! Now, I admit to buying the 2014 CD set, but I really just wanted the album cover reproductions. Strictly a nostalgia trip. The only one I actually listened to was "Second Album." Again, great job, kiddo!

@@mjemigh3304 who’s that little ol’ man? Haha, but seriously, you raise a decent point. My generation should be into today’s current music. And most are. Disclaimer, I am in my 40s, and grew up with Nirvana, Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins. All of that music has its place, but these records, and The Beatles’ core UK catalogue are timeless. Collectively, and these US variants are absolutely a part of that story, are records that continue to influence musicians, myself included, well into today. No, the do not deserve to be forgotten. Should the Mona Lisa, or colosseum be forgotten because one, or a few people think so?

@@lonmaness6222 agreed. I’ve never been a fan of this album in stereo, and am glad Apple released this in mono specifically for this release. @@ifkncantbelieveit image you were a 1st generation Beatles fan living in the US in the 1960s. This is what you heard, and those first pressings sounded worse! Yet, those records sold millions not only in that decade, but well into the 1990s until being repeated by the mid ‘90s. While we have been blessed to hear the original master tapes in all their glory, these serve a reminder of where Beatlemania came to be, and represent the best they have and possibly can ever sound. I choose to appreciate them for what they are, which is fantastic!
