Dear Spartan, if you haven't read I could offer from Herman Wouk: The Caine mutiny court-martial novel from 1951. It plays on an american destroyer/mine seeker in the WWII. At least the first part of the novel. It shows how was the duty for the crew for months out there on the endless open water. When the whole body of the ship and the steel walls radiate the heat all day long and you can't escape from it, the sudden japanese planeattacks from the dazzling sunring, etc. I read it when I was around 18 but I still remember a lot of things. Just give a try...

LOL, I got a clear sky medal the other day in the first 5 minutes in a Le Fantasque! Parseval (In a Starscream skin no less) spotted me right away, and to his credit, he kept me lit up and prevented me from capping because I was torp dodging and trying to avoid his team’s support fire. He finally left me alone after I medaled, but while he was focused on me, my team pushed and we won. He was the last to die. FWIW, French WWII destroyers are pretty decent at shooting down F-15s apparently.

I gotta say not a bad looking destroyer gonna be honest you were right with the Americans having some of the best looking ships but personally for me the bismark is the best looking ship in the game.

@@omega7689 if you want a their 6 premium DD than just buy a z-35 or if you want an American DD than buy a Kidd. There is literally no reason to buy this at all.

It has more AA, but, yeah, it's a Benson. I suppose if you didn't have a USN T6 DD and were looking for one, this one might get the nod if you really like torpedoes that have warheads bigger than a cherry bomb and don't care about heals. Otherwise, it's a bit of an also-ran.

I must have missed it, but the Monaghan has pretty good AA guns. Shot down 25 planes and got a medal for it. It may have also just been down to the fact that the carrier player was not as good at the game, or solely RNG. I can safely say, I do not think I will be able to replicate a game like I had in the Monaghan.. P.S. I love your videos Spartan, hopefully one day I'll be lucky enough to get Dev. Struck by you in game lol

Hi Spartan, T6 destroyers start to get interesting for me because they now have the upgrade that I find hard to decide which to choose and that’s the RGA upgrade that helps my team because it helps spotting or should I choose the concealment upgrade to help me hide and ambush. I hate destroyer players who don’t do their job and I don’t want to be the guy who would do the same. This is hard for me because I suck at destroyers and is more than a complete potato when playing destroyers. So videos like these are very helpful.

RGA only helps when proxy detecting enemy in smoke or behind hard cover. So concealment is likely your best bet

@@SpartanElite43 thanx for the prompt reply. Ever since I started playing this game, I’ve always been playing battleships. Up to now I only play destroyers if I have to (e.g. bureau tasks). Anyhow, most of my strategy has been influenced by what I’ve learned from your videos so I wish there was a way other than leaving comments on your videos where I could pick your brain. Hey Saprtan. Unrelated to this particular vid, but I just surpassed 750K global XP. I started this game to get the Alabama (because I have been on that ship many times), but after watching your review of the Massachusetts, I wonder if the Alabama is the best option. What are your thoughts for buying your first "Free XP" ship? What are your top three options? If anyone else reads this, what do you guys think? I don't want to have buyers regret!!!

@@augustin8302 I literally have been in the game for 4 months and intentionally never spent any xp on the tech tree. I was shocked it didn't take longer, but also very happy!

Alabama if you want pure dispersion build, Massachusetts if you want to brawl with secondaries both are very good depends on your playstyle which would be better for you

5th (!) Tier 6 american destroyer, beside Stalingrad there is nothing this month for me, i did like 20 games with Yammy, Alaska and Champagne since the update... did 210k-220k with Champagne like 3 times going for the WR so pretty frustrated here... I see those 150k GXP, so, after some time what do you think of Stalingrad ? People say you're bias but American ships are the best in design for me too, not all of course

Best bang for your buck is campaigns admiralty backing is 2500 gold and if you complete the missions you get a ship to go with all the crates and other extras

spartan you have got so many shotdowns because he called fighters in that area and fighters have very less hp so you got so many shotdowns it is not that it has aa equal to cruiser or battleships

American DDs already have a great traverse so you get more benefit from Perceptive. Russian DDs - for example - are better with T&T
