They built most of that 105...some sources say 98, some say 92. With the FRAM upgrades in the 50s, some of these served into the 70s with the USN...torpedoes made way for AA missiles, I believe, and I'm pretty sure the superfiring turret got replaced by an 8 barrel ASROC mount...

I got the Gearing and the Conqueror and so far I am loving both of them. I love hitting people with unexpected 70 knot torps and slamming people for 15k with HE.

For the Gearing to take the Akizuki (or Kabarosk for that matter) in a straight up gunfight (where neither has a notable health or support advantage) it will have to get close so the floaty shells aren't a factor but if you get in a gunfight with them at longer range, their better shell ballistics will let them land more hits if both parties are maneuvering. But Divisions of Gearings are going to be lots of fun when they can flood half the map and entire caps with torps. Shimakaze can launch more but Gearings can area denial half the damn map.

Yeah :) sometimes you are very confident :) Alaska? Pfff! Actually, with good rudder timing, it is possible to dodge so many rounds in American dds - even under severe combined fire of Bismarck’s secondaries and etc, and survived, just checking the order of enemy salvos from different ships, of course rng and luck matter, but I dodged so many times rounds from Wichitas, Atlantas, New Orleans, Indianapolis, etc. and sometimes paid them back with 16 torps in Benham. Have a lot of videos saved :)

Gearing has enough armor that other dds including gearing can arm in the armor because she has 21mm mid and upper belt .

See so many dds suitorp bbs at the start of the game or try to torp dds and not use their guns. Played a game this week where our four dds took on their four dds and all our four died for no loss to them. From the hit points the enemy dds still had left it was clear our dds didnt use their guns .

I bought Amagi(great ship btw) and I spawned mid. I pushed left since I spawned closer to that side. I had great crossfire opportunities and as soon as I started rounding an island. I shit you not. I ran into a Jean Bart WHO DID NOT LEAVE HIS spawn at all and literally reversed to the edge of the map. It's no longer Jean Bart to me. I now call it the "Water Princess." That Yamato reminds me of that Water Princess just sitting in his spawn. Disappointing people actually play this game like that.

Wargaming is so lazy they actually copy-pasted the old Gearing model from 2015 and added it to Legends A real Gearing should be at least 30% lower in the water

Over 2 minutes to reload your torps!? LMAO. So you get off 3 maybe 4 torpedo launches at best. That incredible torpedo range is completely useless. The chances of a ship continuing in their original path for 2 minutes is essentially zero. Especially tier 7 players. I'll take the Wickes or the Clemson who have launchers on both sides and reload at about 30 seconds and 60 seconds, respectively.
