This video warms my heart. I'm a Fil-Am that lived in Cebu in the 90's and returned to the states in 2000. I have so many wonderful memories of the Philippines. The friendliness and eagerness of the locals to speak English (however shy they may be) is so endearing. Now that my kids are grown, I'm envisioning returning to Cebu. I still have so many friends there and relatives that I can't even count.

u guys just actually made the right thing interacting the locals having fun & just simply spend a bit time with them, which i found most foreign tourist haven't figured it out at first. was a lovely enjoyment watching u as always 🥰 also just a fun fact: Cebu was actually also known as "the Guitar Capital of the Philippines" because of its thriving guitar-making industry. The guitar's connection to Cebu can be traced back to the Spanish period when Spanish friars introduced guitars to the island and taught locals to repair and make them. Origins The guitar-making industry in Cebu began when Spanish friars brought guitars to the Philippines and asked locals to repair and replicate them. The friars taught locals how to properly repair guitars to avoid sending them to Mexico for repairs.
