Agreed. Always curious how the crew operates in putting shows like this together. Survivor man does all the filming himself which is impressive. Here, all the hiking they do is arguably more impressive. Glad we got this access. Feel like meat eater is so popular bc of how real it is. Aside from a few scenic shots, all the content seems to come directly from the hunt and legit makes walking a dude track, hike, and camp for 95% of the episode enjoyable to watch. That says a lot about how good the crew is at producing the show, along w/ how personable Steve’s personality is
@SnailHatan3 жыл бұрын
@@tjanderson5892 Lmao, no, it is not arguably more impressive to have multiple people filming you, with tons of supplies and pack lamas carrying shit, than to film it all yourself. Multiple angles, multiple cameras, effectively nothing in the way of supplies beyond a knife and batteries for the cameras. It isn’t even a comparison.
@tjanderson58923 жыл бұрын
@@SnailHatan some episodes w/ his brothers has pack lamas. Other then that it’s his crew trekking all the equipment through the terrains on their back themselves. Not easy to do at all

Man these are the best hunting videos out there, you and ur guys show it for what its all about. I cant hardly bring myself to watch most hunting shows or videos , but i cant get enought of the meat eater series. I live in arkansas and me and my family harvest, process and consume lots of venison, or best year has been 11. And as you said steve, we hunt to live, those antlers are just a bonus, we all like to kill a nice buck , but its mostly about the meat. The sprit that you all put into these shows will keep me watching as long as u keep making them like this. And as a side note the "stars in the sky" show spoke to my soul. Most definitely one of the best things ive seen on a tv in many years. Keep up the excellent work and stay true to the sprit of the hunt. Best wishes.

Since they're showing love to the crew in these behind the scenes episodes, I'd love to give a shout out to the editor and the post production team. I'm really glad you guys did this. After I saw Steve on JRE, I had to watch every episode he was on, then every episode of Meat Eater. As a wildland firefighter, strenuous hiking is part of my job, and I've been curious just exactly how you tackle some of these shots. Especially in New Zealand with Remy Warren. And it's just funny that in the back of my mind that everywhere you are, there are one or two extra guys running around with cameras all while managing to not scare off all the animals. I thought for sure those Turkeys in Mexico were gonna get spooked, but no, these guys are great at their job.

Good shows, good filming. Used to hate the other shows where the camera was behind the killed animal with the hunter coming up surprised at "finding" the downed animal. I don't think i could do the hikes but the real danger is the part when you tell the wife I'm going on another hunt.... "Again you just went on one last year and you're going to leave me with the kids...." Hunting is expensive with all the purchases needed.... Jewelry, fine dinners with the in-laws, all the baby sitters... and don't even think about asking when she is coming back from a evening with her friends... just be thankful that she comes back. :) Big thanks to your wife for putting up with this.
