Taking a quick break from the 240 to introduce yall to the new JZX90 project! We've talked a little about it before, but its time to get some work done to it!

That car is 100% running on 4-5 cylinders max and Just a heads up with those factory turbos once you start turning up the boost they've been known to eat the compressor wheel and cause catastrophic failure in the head. Ppl usually upgrade to drift motion wheels or single turbo. Excited for the build though!

Likely the oil leak from the valve cover is a broken mounting tab on the valve cover itself - so source another or get handy with the welder. It's also really common for these to pool oil down the spark plugs wells that will seep into the cylinder/foul plugs if they aren't tight. It does have that weird tick at idle that seemed to accelerate with the engine in the test drive? Also, instrument cluster doesn't work? That seems odd. Toyota ECUs are a bit notorious for eating themselves, but I'm not sure what the usual symptoms are when they do (like straight up dead or running weird). Also not entirely uncommon for one of the turbos to shit the bed (turbine wheel falls off), so you might be running on only one which would be only three cylinders of boost. Like PJ said, the stock twin setup is old and tired and switching to a single is usually the first reliability upgrade people do.

No lie this comment makes me so hyped. Im extra pumped to dive into this thing and get it running smoothly. The feedback helps more than you know. I'll keep the Vlog's coming as we get our hands dirty with this new project.

Looks like you need some blinker fluid with the side marker falling out like that, though I'm no mechanic. Looking forward to the build!

Yeah, for sure this engine even at idle sounds like crap 😋 this ticking noise is probably from loose timing cover - can be very dangerous. Spark plugs plus checking water/oil nearby, new coils, compression test, boostleak test and first check. Even just an boostleak with everything other in good shape can causes in MAF cars such behaviour. For sure you have job to do - it sounds more like SR then JZ.. 😉

What xs power battery and battery tie down do you run in the s13? I’m building an ls z and trying to find a small battery and battery tie down/box. On a side note, used to look up to all you guys at the skate park. The first 240 I rode in was Joseph Bells, and we did some donuts in the parking lot of the skate park. That started it all for me lol Wish your shop was still in Rowlett!
