It is the hugest lie and the biggest con. It's been going on since the 80s. To say that tariff's prices are passed on to the consumer is a total complete lie. Prices are set by market value, not cost of production. People pay what they are willing to pay for something and people charge whatever they can get for it. There is no price that is set by cost of production. What lower cost of production can do, is broaden the number of products available on a market that have very low market value. Otherwise all gains from lower cost of production goes to the producer. Or the seller or a middle man. Those gains are never never passed on to the consumer. Because the consumer always pays market value. Everything else is propaganda and lies.
