First of all, there are new tax credits for EVs and other energy efficient appliances. Inform yourself on the bi partisan legislation President Biden spearheaded. Then say thank you for a president who knows what he's doing. Second, student loans serve a different function in society than a stove or air conditioner. The GI Bill supported college education for veterans, and the society benefited greatly from that new talent and knowledge and expansion of the middle class. Student loans are a similar investment in young people of intelligence and talent who have already been accepted to universities, but money is the barrier to their enrollment. It is a worthy investment. If you had qualifying academic credentials and high level extra curricular activities, and you were accepted by a university, and then someone talked you out of attending and making that investment in your future, I feel sad for you. Or maybe you didn't work very hard in high school and that's why you didn't go to college? And now you are resentful about other students who now have the college degree you gave up on many years ago? It's never too late to make a change in your life. You can go to college at any age. Good luck on your journey.

You can't just forgive it as in making it simply disappear, someone will have to pay those forgiveness loans. Why should people who could not afford to go to college for themselves, be stuck paying someone else's college dept? There were many who worked 40 hrs a week while going to college.

Would just lowering the interest rates help? Interest rates just for student loans? A lot of times they wind up paying interest on interest. Or a delay on when interest is added. And not like businesses. Don't mean no interest for three years. And then at the end of three years interest is added on from day one instead of starting at the end of the three years.

Biden’s use of PPP as a reason to forgive student debt is an apples to oranges comparison and he should b e ashamed of himself for calling out republicans that used PPP to keep their employees whole during the pandemic. Democrats used PPP too and the program intended for those that used the money as intended received forgiveness. It was legislated that way. Student loans are a choice people make, and they agree to pay it back when they take out the loan.
