I got Rudder Shift down to 3 Seconds, you can shoot, turn, shoot, engage, shoot, escape, shoot, etc etc. For me, its one of the best Cruisers in the game! :-)

It survived the 2 atomic bombs with minor damage, but while on its way to Kwajalein Atoll the ship had a small leak and during one of the days it was at Kwajalein Atoll it capsized in really water because the navy tried to beach it.

Prinz Eugen’s story didnt end at nuclear testing. She actually survived BOTH tests and was hauled to Kwajalein Atoll where she was left ultimately to rot, eventually capsizing and was never touched again. She is open to the public (if you chose to travel there).

I did love the history ! That is what brought me to the game. I'm early adopter and you helped me through the early leaning parts of the game.l grew up in Bremerton WA. Where the naval ship yard is . l had the great fortune to have a dad in the navy and was able to walk, clilmb, and explore ships of ww2 .Lots of jeep carriers, famous carriers,and destroyers. Sadly the were all timed out for scraping. Luckily some the most famous battle ships were brought ba ck to life and saved. ! My favorite the Missouri .I loved that ship and used to love to stand on the Bronx plack where the Japanese signed there surrender.

Haha part of the reason it survived was there were a lot of ships involved and they were set out to specific ranges to test the effects at those ranges of radiation, and blast wave

I really want this ship so bad, but the 750k xp is alot man. Also.. the german camo's are my favorite in the game only rivaled by the japanese camo's. Italian are nice too. Great game spartan 👍

I would highly recommend a torpedo build, I haven’t tested it myself, but with the right commanders, you can get it down to about 30-40 seconds

This is by far my favorite cruiser. The reload on the torps is unreal for a cruiser. And they pretty much shoot straight in front of you. Good tanking ship also. I use the radar rather than the reload booster also. Just more useful when you have destroyers that want to get in close and pop smoke.

@@SpartanElite43 yeah on paper, but the way the eugen hits just seems like it hits harder more consistently. I have both and just love playing the eugen compared to the baltimore. Plus it has 2 reload consumables. But all respect to the Baltimore. Definitely not taking anything away from it. Either way cant wait to see the video.

It’s unfortunate that the German crew Sabotaged Prinz Eugen before she was given to the US, that’s why she took part in Cross Roads. The navy decided it wasn’t worth it to repair Eugen

I don't recall reading the crew did anything out of the ordinary to it. The engines on the Prinz Eugen--and every other German major naval unit--were perfectly capable of self-sabotage and that on a regular basis. If you read operational histories of German capital ships it's essentially a litany of repeated engine failures. The Germans ran an extremely high pressure state-of-the-art steam plant. The problem was they didn't have the strategic resources to use equally state-of-the-art metalurgy in constructing it. High-pressure steam is extremely corrosive and mild steel fittings simply don't last very long, hence the high operational failure rate.

In fact, quite the opposite. The sonar systems of the Prinz Eugen were more advanced than those of the US Navy, so they were studied and implemented on the Baltimore Class. The reality is that after the war the budget for the army fell and it was not necessary to maintain so many units. Prinz Eugen was a full-fledged cruiser, capable of keeping up with (for example) Baltimore-class cruisers. But at the time of having to discard, it was decided to remove the captured ship from another navy before the newly built cruisers.

Thanks Mr Elite, v helpful. Prinz Eugen is on my 750XP shopping list but so is Atago. Any thoughts on which may be "best"? It seems that Eugen is a better version of Hipper in all but Concealment. This is clearer to see with Atago vs Mogami in context on the tech tree which I hope is expanded to make comparisons easier. The WG formula for Premium seems to be to offer more maxed out versions of tech tree variants - Tirpitz vs Bismark, arguably Alabama vs Iowa; probably stating the obvious but I guess it's worth comparing specs in case of the temptation that different is better...

The charles martel has the 2nd fastest 203 reload. 9sec with reload mod. The rudder shift has very little to no effect on a ship's turning circle. It only means the ship will begin the turn faster.

I know you didn't use it but that reload boost is nasty... if you time it right you can get 4 salvos off in VERY quick succession and you can stack alot of damage in a hurry. I know you give up the sonar, but I've straight up annihilated more than a few DDs and cruisers with the reload booster active...
