Ah yes, yet another 'solid concepts, meh execution' scenario. Might hunt this down once the, ahem, *situation* is over. 😁 Can't lie, the nostalgia for William Joyce is strong with this one. Grew up watching the Rolie Polie Olie and George Shrinks cartoons and I adore his illustrations. Was quite surprised to discover _Meet the Robinsons_ was based on one of his books.
@idonthaveanose4 жыл бұрын
That's pretty much how I'd describe it in a nutshell. Once again, I actually think development of the game may have been rushed. And no, the situation isn't great right now. Hope you're doing okay. Yes! When this film first came out, it reminded me of Rolie Polie Olie. It has that same kind of 50s aesthetic, if you get what I mean. Also that show was so cute. 😂 I never liked George Shrinks when I was a baby thing. Not sure why, just never took to it.
@DoctorInk204 жыл бұрын
@@idonthaveanose Thanks, man. Same to you. Hope you're staying safe. 😁 License movie tie-in games often are rushed, 'cos there's a small window of public interest. Particularly if the studio knows the movie won't do so well. There was good stuff during 2000s Di$ney, but it began to suck once Michael Eisner pushed for more DreamWorks-esque subversiveness. Ugh. Double ugh to _Frozen_ also. 😆 Yeah, Joyce is all about that graphic, '50s retro-futurism vibe. GS appeals to that weird subject of 'small thing explores regular sized world'. On a similar note, ever see Joyce's Buzz Lightyear concept art?

I am thank you- trying to keep myself busy with videos. Yeah, I've had to wonder if my inability to find all the action figures is due to the game not being completed. It sounds silly but it's been the case with a couple of others That, or I'm just terrible. 🤷🏼♂️ This really isn't a bad game, but I really wish they'd have made all the locations accessible at the end. I may have seen his Buzz... Not sure though. 🤔
@DoctorInk204 жыл бұрын
@@idonthaveanose Good stuff. I noticed some new visuals, like the score at the end. (Scours memoryto make sure that that's new XD) Yeah, in a game that has you obsess over scanning every single detail for bonuses, lack of backtracking seems like an absurd oversight. Granted, I like the idea of an encyclopedia you have to fill up in-game, but can't be obtuse to use. The Ghostbusters game did this, where you had to scan ghosts, but it was impossible to do because the reticule was tiny, the movement was over-sensitive and the blasted ghosts wouldn't stay still. I'd say the Batman Arkham games probably did this the best, but that's just me. Regarding your issue, I think it's more of a communication problem within the game about what's scannable. I may need to rewatch the video, but was there any clear indicator of what you had to scan? s30886.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/lunarylarry4-e1561542872932.jpg

Hahaaa! It looks like a George Shrinks character in an astronaut suit. 😂 Cute! It's the second review to use this rating screen- I used it in the Open Season one too, but I'm still kind of experimenting a little. Wanted something that looks a bit more 'new' and less crummy. There is a button you can press that temporarily reveals what you can scan, but again, having to press it all the time is annoying. Either way, I swear I scanned everything there was to scan, and did all the havoc glove seals, chargeball, etc. I can't recall if the footage I used of the action figures contains all I managed to find but if not, I didn't find many more. It's so weird. One of the few movie games I've never completed 100%, and there really isn't much of an incentive to. 😐

Apparently a few people had no idea there was a game to this! Personally I think it's one of the better latter-day Disney games. I do like the movie. It's not flawless but very watchable. It's not as wacky and stupid as the trailers made it out to be. There's zaniness in moderation. 😛 I'm okay thank you, though was feeling reeeaaaally low around the time I recorded this. I kinda had to force myself. It's as though the world has stopped and it feels awful. How are you keeping?
@TwisterTH4 жыл бұрын
Yeah and apparently you’re the chosen one that makes discovery for the people with games like this, hehe (in a good way, of course!) It’s kinda interesting seeing how Disney evolved with 3D animated movies, from Chicken Little to Frozen 2. As well as they game adaptions (including Pixar, of course). Oh, I see, can image that. But I hope you feel well and everything, man. And not over-pushing yourself to hard. Oh, I’m kinda alright too, thanks! Having some little trouble with mental issues (sort of), but other than that, I’m pretty fine, right now I’m drawing my entry for an art book that will appear in a convention (SuperSonicCon2020 (in Russia), relaxing stuff, haha.
@idonthaveanose4 жыл бұрын
They really improved with their CG films, and fairly quickly too. It's weird thinking Tangled was released only 5 years after Chicken Little. I do really miss the traditionally animated movies though - there hasn't been one since Winnie the Pooh in 2011. The Princess and the Frog was like their swansong and that's over a decade old now. :( I'm okay - working on this actually helped so I'm gonna get going on another. That's good, sounds cool. Keep yourself busy and hang in there. My mood tends to fluctuate but I'm a lot more upbeat than I was the other week.
@TwisterTH4 жыл бұрын
Agree! :( Especially with the live-action remakes, that as a whole is sort of a mix bag, but objectively would never replace the original 2D animated films (not that they wanted to replace, but you what I mean). Which I guess why many of us would hope that Disney won’t forget what makes them beloved in the first place. That’s good to hear. Thanks, will do. 😌
@idonthaveanose4 жыл бұрын
Oh the live action remakes are a mistake in my eyes, haha! Not financially, of course. People for some reason still lap it up, but there hasn't been a single remake I've enjoyed. :( Did you see Klaus??? That's the type of thing Disney should be doing imo. Their CG films have lost their appeal for me. They've gotten too samey.

Advice for the 100% completion. 1. Get and transmogrify blueprints for Carrying Capacity Levels 1-3 Upgrades. In between get the blueprint for All Blueprints Cheat. 2. Then transmogrify Maximum Carrying Capacity (for unlimited components with 160 at that time). 3. Then Carrying Capacity Level 4 Upgrade (which you will find in the Hive level 2). To get 200 components (already unlimited). (First chance to transmogrify it is right before the fight with Lizzie). 4. Finaly transmogrify All Blueprints Cheat to unlock all the blueprints. With unlimited 200 components you can transmogrify all those unlocked blueprints to get unlimited lives, energy, collectibles etc.

Whoa, you know your stuff. But is there any way to get all the action figures without using the All Blueprints cheat?
@patrikmacek1214 жыл бұрын
@@idonthaveanose I played a lot when I was a kid and never got more than half of them. And I scan everything. Actually most of the things that can be unlocked through this cheat I only accesed with this. It's true that after like 7+ years not playing the game I recently replayed on my old laptop and found a new secret chest. But with the amount of action figures to collect it's unlikely that I missed so many.
@idonthaveanose4 жыл бұрын
That was my experience too!! I swear I scanned everything but it seems impossible without the cheat. That's kinda disappointing. Wonder why they had so many unlockables if you can't really unlock them.
@patrikmacek1214 жыл бұрын
@@idonthaveanose Yeah I felt the same way. It feels like there are entire stages of the game that are unexplored, yet they don’t exist. There are so many kinds of collectibles that that just can’t fit in the size of this game. Many action figures, which could should be unlocked by just scanning the characters. When I first unlocked all the collectibles it was just in time before the fight with Doris, now I can do it faster. But still. After the Hive game just rushes to the end, especially with Bowler hat guy storyline and Doris timeline. Worst is that the game does not provide any possibility to replay. Or atleast access the Robinson house, which has many mini-game like features. I just don’t save before the doris boss so that I can still move freely. That and before Magma enterprises, which alone allows you to move between many worlds.
@idonthaveanose4 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing maybe there were large parts of the game that were cut late in production or something?? Or maybe they just planned to do more than they were capable of. Movie games were often rushed, sadly. It's a shame though as it's not a bad game.

This game isn’t perfect but it’s honestly not really the gameplay that makes me like this game. It’s because it’s basically a prequel to the movie. Because it ends with Wilbur arriving at the science fair which is where he’s introduced in the movie. And this game shows us a lot of stuff that we NEVER see in the movie. And honestly I really wish some of it WAS in the movie. Like the kid with his little volcano project. Apparently that one little science project became an entire industry that he is in charge of and the little goth girl with the fire ant farm became a queen of fire ants.
