The concrete oven stands about three feet tall and six feet wide, with the outer wall built about eighteen inches thick and in the shape of a perfect hexagon. Barbacoa Los Cuates slow cooks lamb and goat for 6 to 8 hours each weekend morning.

I use to help my dad do this back in the 90s for the quinceañeras. He raised the goats in our backyard and everybody from his hometown would get the food for their party from us. I’m more of a barbecue kind of guy, but I don’t do too bad making barbacoa myself.

My dad's side is very traditional when it comes to barbacoa and ladies and gentlemen if you never had this or the broth you're in for a treat of a lifetime. This taste way better than your regular carne asada tacos the labor put into this is very intense it requires more than 1 maybe 4 people. If you ever have the chance to try this please it will be the best tacos you'll eve eat I promise you!
