@@derrick031072 imo Lightning is the perfect all rounder, the Lightning build I use allows 64 seconds torp reload with 18k health with 5.5km concealment and that's pretty much all u need

I really recommend using bey for your german dds with sims and swirzky as inspi, they excel at the gunboat role. You would've rekt the lightning and walked away with probably 10-14k hp and easily destroy another DD, and ofc your torps dont need no buffs to be good

I use Erich Bey for a more gunship build, with Arleigh Burke and William Sims as inspirations. That way, with all the main battery reload upgrades and commander competences I got 5,4 sec reload time on my guns, with 21 880 health points, 5.2 km détection range, 38,1 knots and 4,9 sec. And... I got Twist and Track with Erich Bey to hunt ennemy destroyers like the german Terminator. Torpedoes are just some cherries on the pie.

Recently I have been having issues with dds and getting torped so ive actually starting using the real world tactic of zig zaging to throw off torpedo aim, i dont think i see anyone else use this and curious if anyone else has tried it.

Well it depends. I run a gunboat build on my Lightning and I have dropped my gun reload to 3.6sec. For one Z23's shot a fire two. Given that lighting also doesn't have to be broadside to shoot with all its guns, I find the Lightning a much better gunboat. Lightning can take out a z23 and even compete with a Fletcher.

When you were engaging the lightning , you should have smoked up and you’re sonar would have spotting him. Even if the lightning had her sonar active you would have been out of its range. And could have had more than half you’re hp left.

There were 45 "Z" series destroyers for germany the Z was for "Zerstörer" or "destroyer".(lets just shorten Zerstörer to Z.) Consisting of Z. 1934, Z. 1934B, Z. 1936, Z. 1934A "Narvik", Z. 1936A and Z. 1936B versions. The Z23 is a Narvik class.

I like speedy destroyers with low concealment and a big HP pool. My Akatsuki can go between 44 and 45 knots with engine boost active, has 5km detection and 14,500 health! All with torpedoes that have a range of 10km, speed of 66 knots and can do close to 18,000 damage each! Edit: 1.4km detection on torps is very OP, mine have 1.8km.

DaBeast Bricks Jap torps have a larger detection radius than other nations torps because of the damage output they have.

Derrick Reyes you can get the akatsuki to 44 knots if you use Raizo Tanaka and use the destroy or be destroyed skill if you are using the speed boost.

You can enable between the two in the settings, regular English for every one, or you can set it to National, meaning every commander speaks in their native language.
