@mrjesuisbelge7 жыл бұрын
I've seen their pictures and they look way better without moustaches and without those painted eyebrows. I'm all about facial hair tho and I'm sure there is a more suitable style for both of them but well maybe they don't have much facial hair so they can't really do anything else... 1 year on T is not enough to have full beard for most transguys or non-binary folks so I really think that it's because it's the only non-patchy area...

Not true, I just reached my funding goal after roughly 4 months. I have everything I need now. If you calculate your budget to include the fees from GFM and WePay, and you utilize social media and other outlets to get the word out, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to communicate your need and succeed at your campaign.
@saxschmo7 жыл бұрын
Destiny Price I don't use tumblr. I used Facebook, and I shared it on my nearly empty twitter a few times. Nearlybevery single donation was through FB friends or friends of friends. I shared nearly every day for a few months, then about once or twice a week. I provided updates, as well. The sharing helps. I identify within the binary, and I know non-binary people who've had insurance cover part of their procedure as non binary patients. Just because you know someone with a bad experience using GFM doesn't mean it's bad for everyone. MK and Ash seem to be doing good with sharing and getting the word out so I'm sure they'll do a good job.

I respect the pronoun changes of people to an extent, but I've always find getting my head around the "they/them/their" really difficult. It's hard to distinguish between who they're referring to, and it all seems a bit overcomplicated and impersonal. Sorry if this comes across as disrespectful.

Eileen Stevenson this is totally valid, it's a hard thing to get used to but it's so nice you're open minded about it!
@BubbleBiggan7 жыл бұрын
Eileen Stevenson In honesty, it's so much easier in swedish. We have the 3 official pronouns "han" (he), "hon" (she) and "hen" (gender neutral). It's curious that US and UK haven't created their own word for it yet since it's one of the most spoken languages.
@xMissEileeneileenstevenson7 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine it's similar in German, with er/sie/es. It's funny, English defies a lot of logic in its grammar in comparison to other languages.

transgender means that you want to transition to the opposite sex not just because you don't identify with the gender you were born with. hence the term trans. to say the latter is really destructive to say. so they aren't non-binary. they are trans. or faking all of it.
@Eli-ky4rh7 жыл бұрын
trans-gender. Trans as in "to cross over" or change. They identify outside of the gender binary of male and female, hence nonbinary, but as they do not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth, they have "switched" genders. Transgender. Being transgender has nothing at all to do with medical transition and there are MANY trans people, male female and nonbinary, who can't or simply choose not to medically transition. That does not make those people less valid in their identities and it doesn't mean you can't still SOCIALLY transition (using chosen name and pronouns, living and presenting as your true gender). Gabi, honestly your logic has very little actual logic to it and you sound poorly educated on the matter so please do not use public forums to push that misinformation on others.

These people can do whatever they want with their lives/bodies, but I wish people understood that saying that you're non-binary AND trans is really hurting the trans community. You cannot transition to no gender, it makes no physical sense. If you want to keep your female body but want to have a masculine outward appearance, then you're just an androgynous woman. If you want to have a male body and want to have a feminine outward appearance, then you're an androgynous man. If you want to have both parts of a male and female, then you're intersex. Being "masculine" or "feminine" is not some new gender; those traits are just a part of your personality and they have always existed. It really seems like these people are still not totally sure what they identify as yet (and that this is just a step closer to the answer), but if you want to have a male body, be on testosterone, and have an outward male appearance I don't know why they would consider themselves anything but trans-men.

Ketchme17 speak for yourself. as an "actual" trans person (lmao wtf is that), transitioning as a non-binary person is very possible. it's not about tranistioning into the opposite sex. it's about transitioning so that you feel better about your body and dysphoria, and it is very much so possible to transition into a more gender-neutral body.

@zzzzzmania1237 жыл бұрын
AstralBliss everyone should think of "sex" and "gender" as two different things. They aren't the same
@kiefhouse7 жыл бұрын
Ok, we've established they are different. So why do trans people get offended when you call them by their sex? I'm not misgendering them. Im positively sexing them. All that is necessary from now on when we find ourselves in these situations where a person says, "excuse me, you misgendered me." Is to respond with, "no, I'm not referring to your gender when I say hey man, I was referring your sex!"
@faithvictoria80407 жыл бұрын
AstralBliss because trans people want to be referred by their correct pronouns. for example i have a friend who's trans, so he was born a girl and now is a boy. and some people say "hey girl" to him and he gets offended bc that's not who he is. his sex has nothing to do with his gender. he's a boy. and calling him a girl bc of his sex is wrong. it doesn't make it okay bc he was born a girl.
@faithvictoria80407 жыл бұрын
AstralBliss also. if you are misgendering someone please don't tell them you are referring to their sex. kindly say sorry and fix their pronouns.

am I the only one confused on the pronouns? they and them are plural meaning multiple people, but they, see both multiple, call themselves they and them individually. it just doesn't make sense to me.

Hannah Cothran well sometimes when you're referring to someone and you don't know the persons gender, people usually use their. for example, if your friend told you they wanted you to meet a friend they made, you could ask "what's their name?" because you don't know the gender of the person. the word they can be used for both plural and for someone of an unspecified gender, it even says it in the dictionary. plus, who talks grammatically correct 24/7 anyways?

It's okay, it was really confusing to me too in the beginning. If you use it frequently or see it often, you'll get used to it after a while.

It's cool to see other trans twins! Me and my twin are both trans too (ftm). By the way I know identical twins where one is ftm and the other is cis female. I also know another set of identical nonbinary twins, but with almost all of the trans twins I have come across only one in the set is trans. It is more uncommon than you seem to think for both twins to be trans, even when they are identical. Not sure why that is, but it is more common for only one twin to be trans.

Why the 'yikes'? Parents should love their children regardless of what they identify as.

This video really changed my opinion on transgenders and really opened my eyes... It's not that I wasn't accepting its just I didn't really realize how much they really weren't who they truly were

I was born an identical twin too ,but I'm FTM and my sister is Cis ,so seeing her it's like seeing me pre-t or how i would look like if i never transitioned it's really weird xD

It makes sense because they're identical. They used to be one egg (or one person) and when it split they became two. I think that makes a lot of sense as to why they both identify this way and felt these feelings at the same age for a long time.
