If you're a fan of Acura or Honda then this next episode is for you. Meet the king of Acura collections and one of our freelance writers Tyson Hugie. Often times a persons passion for cars is started with their family. Tyson is no exception to that, however it was his first car back in highschool that set him on the path to collecting anything and everything Acura related. His 1989 Honda Prelude was his first car that started it all. Restoring it to appear as if it was just out a brochure, Tyson has kept this Prelude looking brand new. This Prelude will have a long term place in his collection as a reminder to always remember where you came from.

Tyson you made my day! i live in australia and have owned 14 3rd gen preludes since 2013 and now i just have one with mugen bodykit and i could never sell it but also i had a red 1981 sn 1st gen for 7 years and recently sold it but soo exciting to see that you had one aswell! and i stay in touch with 3+ owners of my previous preludes i have sold :D

Great video! The way you talk about your 89 Prelude is EXACTLY how I feel about my 89 Accord LXi coupe I had!! I got it in 1997 with 115 on the odometer. I used it up to 180k and till this day I regret ever selling it! It was my favorite car.

I had that exact same color and car senior year 2003. All my friends had 2003 acura rsx 2000 civic si while i had a classic 1989 prelude. They used to bully and rank on me for having such an old car. But i loved her and kept her nice and waxed. They just dont understand

Between 1983 and 1992, I owned and loved 5 Preludes across 2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen. I enjoyed watching Prost and Senna, with their beast Honda motors, dominate F1 in the late '80s...then step out and go for a Prelude drive. There was actual trickle down of Honda's racing heritage to their road cars, which motivated me to appreciate the stock Prelude experience which included great cloth seats, large readable gauges, fabulous 5 speed shifters and double wishbone suspensions. These machines were never about winning street races, but were engineered to reward precise handling and steering and provide Honda's legendary reliability. Props on maintaining your Hondas and Acuras in such an excellent fashion!!
