I think the real purpose behind the 10% damage on the widowmaker is for situations where you plop down a mini-sentry only for an enemy to KOOLAID GUY right into your line of sight, forcing you to combat them with your pitiful amount of metal, but when your sentry targets them, the added damage ALSO grants you 10% more metal per hit, meaning you'll be left more metalsome after the whole affair of their domination.

Does the Widowmaker still get the +10% buff if an EMPTY sentry is targeting an enemy? The sentry still "targets" even if it doesn't have ammo. It might be interesting to see if it does. Also, if Valve wanted to encourage people to put down a sentry, why not give it a damage penalty, then a sizable buff when the target is being targeted by a sentry? Say, a 15% damage penalty, but a 30% bonus on sentry-targeted enemies. THAT would have done something.

+Isaac Argesmith Vaccinator gives resist so snipers can't kill medics, and pocket heavies are super tanky and prevent anyone from getting that close to the medic so it's hard for soldiers and scouts to deal with. Usually organized teams can easily focus down a heavy because of how slow they are but matchmaking is rarely organized.

The Pomson also lets the Engie leave his nest more often since he's probably leaving his dispenser. On maps like 2Fort, where there isn't much metal to pick up, the Pomson allows me to go on "offensive" for a bit, usually supporting an assault team, without taking the ammo that your real offensive players (Soldier, Heavy, Pyro) need. Its also great for those long choke-point tunnels that 2Fort consists of. And for those maps (Dustbowl) where Heavy-Medic combos just build Uber and roll the points, it gives you some defense to be able to sap their Uber charge. Douchy? Or tactical? You decide.

I feel like a good change to the pomson would be that it could only sap a medic's uber if he has used it. Meaning, a medic wont outright not be able to use it, it's just that when he does, it will run out quicker and be less effective. Could be good for when a medic and whatever class are rushing your sentry.
