One of the only food cooking channels I like watching. The variety in what they do, having Alvin on occasionally, I especially love the botched episodes where we see more of what happens. There's a reason he's referenced and parodied so much.

It is awesome to see how his space has changed and to hear how him and his channel have evolved over the years. I’ve been watching this channel since almost the beginning of its inception, and it has remained one of my favorite channels that I’m subscribed to to date. I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for Andrew and his team, because they deserve all the success that they have already achieved and will achieve. I would say it would be awesome to see him end up on a professional TV program, but to be honest, like he mentioned when it comes to editing, it would probably end up losing a lot of its charm if something like that were to happen. So I respect his decision to try to remain as hands-on as possible.

I have loved watching Banish ever since I discovered his videos and that was when he was not showing his face at all. I love how he edits his videos and adds his personal touches because it makes it personal and it shows us viewers that even he makes mistakes in the kitchen. I Love his voice, he has got a great baritone voice that I even discovered he has a podcast that he reads bedtime stories. He read the Velveteen Rabbit and it was so nice. Even as he reads it he still adds his own touch and, for me, it makes me smile.

I appreciate this interview. I accidentally stumbled upon Babish a few months ago and was fascinated. I’m a longtime follower of chefs like Alton Brown, Kenji and Chef John. Andrew’s method of cooking and presentation is amazing and I was hooked. It is nice to get to peek behind the curtain a bit and see the hows and whys of his operation. The original ‘Basics’ part of the BCU is my favorite, the current ranking series not so much, but I enjoy most of it. I wish him continued success. He seems like a decent enough guy.

Really showcase your enthusiasm and and genuine interest and it's great for many reasons, but one being that people like me who hasn't watched the content of the person being interviewed, even if I find myself humanely uncertain about the person, I still get to be exposed to their good and bad and so forth, through you. Keep up the good work!

I edit for a tv show and I have massive respect for Andrew still editing the videos. I think most KZbinrs should because editing usually is pretty easy
@stanvanillo983117 күн бұрын
still takes time and some people value their time more and happily pay for someone to do it. Also Babish's video are less effort, because there is normally only one angle, no effects etc.
@rorybannon4 сағат бұрын
@@stanvanillo9831 I disagree, they use a fair amount of hand held shots and they don’t over edit but they do put in graphics. Editing together his VO is more involved than you probably think. I did radio production in college so I learned how to use effects and edit VO to sound as good as possible. I obviously am not against people hiring editors, as an editor myself that would be foolish. I more was thinking about all of the KZbinrs that make videos that are way easier to produce than these babbish vids, like basic commentary videos for example. If you need an editor to chop up your VO and put gameplay on screen, or chop up your video of you talking to a camera, you’re just lazy imo. You can disagree and say they just wanna do other stuff but I say they are lazy and that’s my opinion.

On the topic of not realising how much Babish sells and how many items are available; a friend of mine was like "yeah, I got this new stainless steel pan and some new equipment, you should come round for steak one night, it'll be great...blah blah" we get talking about using stainless steel and how the new stuff is going yaddy yadda. I get to his house and we're talking in the kitchen and i notice that the pan is Babish! I said to him "holy shit, you never said the pan was Babish! I had no idea you watched him!" and his reply was "...who's Babish??" lmao. It's just so strange that to us, to me, Babish is an internet celebrity i've followed for years, watched him build up a massive following, learned tons from and been inspired to cook yet to my friend, and likely many others....he's just a cookware company 😂. Absolutely wild.

@@adzy31 That's a terrible design for food safety. Refrigerator designers are designing for convenience and appeal, not the best food maintenance. I've been watching Babish for a decade, but he's really kinda lost track of the soul of his channel in the last few years. Other people are making videos in his style on his channel instead of him, and when he does make a video, it's some "ranking instant ramen" or other "I rank blank" video instead of cooking (and, thus, teaching us all a few things in the process). The last two or three weeks have seemed better (a return to form, if you will), but I still worry that he might have utterly departed from what made people watch him in the first place and instead has become something of a wealth-monster/empire-builder vs a cook on youtube, which is why we all followed him to start with. Anyway, this is all just my opinion. I hope the coming weeks and months see a shift with him back in front of the camera, doing his thing. This is an excellent video, by the way, Mr. Youshaei!
