I saw Zenyatta racing, and I have seen her dancing and highstepping many times. I think she is an intelligent mare, and has been so unlucky with her foals racing keenness. I want to wish this great mare a very happy retirement, to the Queen, we the people love you... Always

❤ I'm one of Zenyatta's many humbled fans. Living in Southern California I had the pleasure of being around Queen Z during her racing 🐎 career - and what an amazing career she had!!! 🎉 I witnessed Zenny beating the boys/men in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita 😂 A memorable experience I'll never forget 🤩 I even got to meet Zenny at John Shirreffs' barn at Hollywood Park numerous times to spend quality time with the Queen 👑 I'm so grateful for John welcoming the Z fans. Zenny, without a doubt, has such charisma 🥰 Love her always, Auntie Judy 😉

Yea, but could you imagine if they bred her one more time but this time, to Flightline. I would love to see a foal from them. Just one more time but to Flightline. Can you imagine a colt with the speed of Flightline but with the length of Zenyatta's stride?

so great to see the filly, been hoping to see what she looks like and yeah that blaze of hers is so much like zen's! and i hope we have better luck with the third time with a war front foal and she keeps safe and healthy. and i'm glad zenyatta has been pensioned. she's that one horse that i've loved in that sort of afar way since all those years ago and it's really something to follow along and see her reach the end of another sort of era and now be fully retired.❤

super neat for anyone to have watched her race and then later get into the career and actually have worked with zen, that rly is awesome!

Thank goodness the owners are providing for her, so many get discarded after they are finished with their careers

Probably not. She is such a later foal. That makes it an uphill battle.

The broodmare manager keeps alluding to visitors, but Lane's End shows Zenyatta rarely, and then to individuals and groups with special permission. Unfortunately this is common practice when it comes to broodmares, regardless of how great they were on the track.
@kscott26554 ай бұрын
But when she's retired, she won't be a broodmare anymore. Perhaps then they can be less careful with her because there are no babies to worry about.

What is the latest news on Cosmic One, Ziconic and the other foals?
@racefan17018 ай бұрын
You can read about all Zenyatta's foals on her Wiki page. Unfortunately, she lost two foals before birth, and a third died in a paddock accident. Cosmic One ran twice and was retired, and Ziconic ran 12 times but never won. She still has her last foal that could race and a 3-year-old named Zilkha, who is in training now at Del Mar. One of her other foals, Zellda, was deemed too small to race.
@richardk6196Ай бұрын
@@racefan1701 Read what you wrote about Zellda-Genetics are so strange as Zenyatta is huge.

Not every great horse can produce winners...see Secretariat...2 good fillies.
@DezmondFringe11 ай бұрын
he's thought of as more of a broodmare sire so he did have an impact just not immediate direct winners zenyatta may also not be a direct immediate results sort of horse, and it's harder to expect that of mares anyway considering they can only foal so many horses vs stallions with how many they can sire
@Lmzip211 ай бұрын
Many great fillies including Horse of the year 1986, a colt named Risen Star that won 2 TC races in 1988 with an amazing Belmont finish. and through his daughters grand sired many great runners, broodmares and sires. Cannot be expected to reproduce himself, but he created quite a legacy.

All of her foals need more time to grow before going to training. This is why they are failing.

Hope this one keep sound and can win races. Not like the others couldn't even run a good 2nd place
@Minxii11810 ай бұрын
I don’t think it was so much a lack of ability on all of her foals part. If you watch cozmic one with his show jumping career, he just seems too laidback and almost lazy. Some of her foals seemed to have her mellow personality, but don’t “come alive” like she did on the track.
@anthonycgardner777410 ай бұрын
@@Minxii118 Zen gave us about five foal and one died and the rest no ability . They all came with good looks

Retired after her 3rd foal? Some mares only give quality foals after foal 3. Why give up?
@kscott26554 ай бұрын
She has 5 living foals, including this one, and has had two others that died after birth. Plus pregnancies that didn't end in a foal. Her 2012 and 2013 offspring raced, but never won. Her 2014 weanling died in a paddock accident. She wasn't bred in 2015. Her 2016 foal lived for only a matter of days. Her 2017 foal is registered but was deemed to small to race. She aborted her 2018 foal and was not bred to have a foal in 2019. In 2020 she had another filly that is registered but has not yet raced. In 2021 she lost another pregnancy and was not bred for 2022. They decided that 2023 would be her last.

She hasnt produced nothing! She shoulda retired undefeated, mike Smith a great rider gave her a terrible ride in last breeders cup! You cant beat blame waiting that long too pull the trigger!! Everyone knows she shoulda retired undefeated! Its a shame she never produced anything but Bums! Hopefully this war front can run!!!

Lets see how the genes pass on by her fillies. People were saying Secretariat was a flop. He was one of the best broodmare sires ever. (Many of his grandsons were excellent sires) Another thing people forget, is people are the ones that choose the breeding, not the horse.
