Meeting for 125th constitutional amendment 2019 by autonomous council in New Delhi
A crucial meeting of 10 chief executive member or CEM of the 10 autonomous council or district councils of northeastern state was held on Monday at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi. 6 out of the 10 CEM are have attended the meet.
The meeting is crucial as it would try to build an agreement for the 125th amendment bill of the sixth schedule that has the provisions to safeguard the rights of the tribal population in the north eastern states and once amended will ease the fund flow for the development of the tribal areas and give them land rights.
The CEM are scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah after the meeting to place their suggestions their into the matters but due to busy schedule the date have been differed and the meet will be held at Shillong.
