I have seen something and even fallen victim to this myself, it is running ahead of God in a relationship. If you run ahead, even with someone who might be "the one" you can ruin the relationship. You may need to learn something before it can bear fruit. Like growing something in a garden, the seed needs to be planted, the plant needs to be nurtured, and the fruit needs to ripen. The harvest only happens when the fruit is ready to be harvested. Don't be impatient, if it is the one, it will happen. God is to be trusted at all levels in the relationship.

I think one main thing is being missed here: these points do require work. You don’t just find ‘the one’ and instantly connect in these ways. For example, it takes humility to grow in understanding one another’s differences Spiritually, emotionally and so on. You can’t make a judgement of someone at face value and based on your own understanding. Rather you should allow God to reveal aspects about this person.

I recently stopped talking to a guy I met on a Christian dating site because our interests and goals were totally different, even though biblically we were on the same page. I wanted to get married and start and family in the near future and he seemed reluctant to the idea of marriage until he met certain financial goals and he didn't want to have children at all because he thought it was pointless being that we're in the Last Days. Prior to finding this out, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me it wouldn't work out because our friendship was never progressing even after over three months and I wasn't attracted to him physically whatsoever. Plus he never tried to set up a date or meet up. So it wasn't difficult for me to let go for that exact reason. Still optimistic to find the right one. 🙏🏾

Wow I hadn't thought about it that way, but I once dated a guy who it was clear to me had a different calling from God. We both wanted a family, but he wanted that life while traveling and I wanted to remain near my home town and settle down. I didn't want to string him along, so I broke up with him. It was the hardest breakup I had ever done because so many boxes were checked and it felt like if I only put more work into it, I could have made it work. A little after that, as a clear answer to prayers, I met my now fiance. I am grateful for the short relationship I had with that ex because it led me so much closer to God. The things it changed in me were things my fiance remarked were qualities that drew him to me. Looking back I was glad God gave me the strength to walk away so that He could bless me with something even better.

I'm not sure if I really believe in "The One", as I believe more-so that God will guide you and bless you in your choice. However, I was really blessed by the points you made here. Currently in a healthy Godly relationship right now. I especially agree in the last couple points. I have noticed a desire well up in me to keep persevering after conflict. And it usually ends up creating a stronger bond Also, I would add - dating long enough to become acquainted with each other's character weaknesses and growth areas - and still wanting to choose them. That's when reality sets in and exposes if you truly are loving them, or just a fixed-up version of them. I'm sure marriage exposes more. But having that experience in the dating season I have felt has been invaluable.

I had a friend I really cared for deeply, who cared for me too, and I told him that God spoke to me about he and I being together. I love what you said Mark, but I feel like there should be more emphasis on a persons character rather than their personality. A persons personality will and can evolve over time based on where they are in their lives. But a persons character is not only foundational but it’s a better reflection of themselves which therefore brings about certain behaviors in the person such as kindness, patience, encouraging, positive, etc. While personality is something to pay attention to and take into consideration, character is something that should not be neglected when it comes to being in relationship with someone. Just my opinion.

I felt like my partner was "the one" in this entire relationship, even through our struggles. I'm not new to thinking someone night be the one, but this time I felt God working in our relationship. The problem is we weren't always kind to each other, and have been lustful towards others. Its been hard, but in the back of my mind I felt like this wasn't something that I should let go of. All the while I've always been open with my faith and tried to bring him to God. Now, we are newly broken up but for the time being we are on good terms and I see his relationship with God beginning. I pray that breaking up doesn't mean that he wasn't the one, but that we need this season to grow deeper into God, resist sexual immorality, and learn how to appreciate each other. My biggest fear is marriage … I love my partner and this relationship is definitely different … and it’s my first serious relationship. I’m just scared of marrying to divorce because we are always these days bombarded with news of people divorcing . Something I don’t want . But . To never try is to fail. True that divorce is rampant these days. What they don’t tell you is that the strongest predictor of a lasting marriage is abstinence before sex. A marriage based on love and commitment, and being true to God, is what makes a marriage last. Sex before marriage is like biting into a cake before it has finished baking. It’s gonna fall apart. My bf and I haven't seen each other since Covid struck in the US. I know that he's not a Christian, but I can't help but feel like we're meant to be. Other videos mention that Christians and non-Christians shouldn't date. Look through more and older videos. I think "love quizzes" are like horoscopes and are bad for that reason (occult or witchcraft or idolatry, I'm not sure which category it falls under) but also bad in the sense you don't trust your Lord and Creator, Jesus the Christ, over some fallible human who made an online quiz. Given what you've said so far and assuming he doesn't become a Christian, I think you shouldn't pursue him. To use a blatantly obvious example: homosexuals think they are meant to be attracted to the same sex, but we know that is not how humans are designed to be.

I love watching your videos, they’re really insightful. I do have a problem I’m facing that I haven’t found a video for. How do we deal with and get over jealousy? My specific situation is that I really feel like I’m in love with my best friend, I’ve had these feelings for over a year and I’ve had a crush on her for longer. She and I get along really well but I’ve never told her my true feelings, just that I care about her and our friendship feels like a great blessing. Recently after she divorced she established a “no dating” boundary, and we even agreed that we can’t fall in love with each other despite already having those feelings. I agreed because I’d rather keep her friendship rather than confess and it be too much for her. Now she’s talking with a guy and I feel so jealous because I truly feel like she and I would have a great relationship. I hate feeling this way because I really do wish for her to be happy.
