Thank you for showcasing the game. I love the ambition of ITU and am awaiting Kingdoms Forlorn eagerly. Compared to the previous games this one looks a bit standard concerning gameplay and appearence. I hope this will go more the route of being unique as the predecessors did. I see a lot of Nemesis, Deep Madness, STALKER and such in it and it plays more traditionally. Bummer for me as a solo gamer is the need to control 4 characters. I hope this changes to a more solo freindly mode. I trust ITU to make a great game and love the way their stories are written. So I was naturally excited but had some higher hopes, if I am honest.

I was really waiting for your playtrough since you show the unboxing, this is really nice. I also started playing this on TTS. Btw, some rules clarification cause it might help others and we can start deducing some rules haha. I think that on 44:58, the Noise Roll, should only be one dice. Rule says that if you encounter that weird intruder symbol, you roll as many dice as blips on the board. But, one of the last bullet points says “If the Noise source specifies the number and color of dice rolled, roll those dice instead”. So I think it should be one white dice, and I imagine even if you are one the red or black track, please someone correct me if I am understanding this wrong. Keep going with this, I will be waiting for your next video.
@MeetMeAtTheTableАй бұрын
I totally get your questions let me know if you find any info on this I will be looking this up as well I feel that "Noise (White)". would mean a noise roll using white dice and since there are X number of blips you would roll for each one if I am wrong please let me know. @@MeetMeAtTheTable Hey, yeah we are debating about it now on Discord haha, we agree that it would be nice to have some sort of official clarification. We all agree the color of the dice would be white, no matter the Countdown Track, but we are not sure about the amount of dice being rolled

@@MeetMeAtTheTable Not sure why my comment did not get posted haha, on the discord channel someone from ITU has been answering a lot of the questios we were having. One was this one, and he mentioned that if it says Noise (white dice icon for example) it would require a single white dice for that noise roll. Also, he answer about another doubt that was that some weapons, have you rolling for noise with a Intruder symbol + some dice icon. If that is the case, you could potentially end up with more dice than blips on the board, in which case you could assign 2 dice to one blip. Hope this helps for your next run

I was looking closely at the rules and I realized that the management of the blips was wrong: During the first turns (white) the blips move straight in the direction of the arrow (patrolling) both at the end of the turn (with the scan) and during the players' noise. During the intermediate turns (red) the blips move straight with the scan and towards the player who made noise during the spacer phase (I think that change the arrow directions for future patrolling). In the final turns (black) they move towards the spacers in both cases. (Pag. 17 rule book). At first I thought this would make the bips even slower, but on reflection it would allow them to be positioned in the first turns on the map in a more annoying areas and not chase the players aimlessly (who at this point in the game are necessarily faster).

@MeetMeAtTheTableАй бұрын
That’s a great question. I interpret it as you can only use one of each of the tokens on a die so you could use a Re-roll and then a discipline to change a potential but not multiple disciplines to change multiple potentials. Am I the only one who thinks blips have a very interesting and thematic design? I really like the idea that the mission starts in total silence (where you start doing your own thing just paying attention to distant noises and/or radar signals), but then you end up having to survive the extraction point overwhelmed by bad-surprise-speedy-tokens (and monsters). The "problem" with the lack of tension is difficult to judge in an initial scenario like this (in which the game wants to be accessible and readable), but things can go really bad easily with this system in a more tight one.
@MeetMeAtTheTableАй бұрын
You are not in the only one. I think they have nailed that tension in this game. It feels like that survival science fiction movie. Where they originally get there and everything seems quiet and it will be easy to get in and out and then as things continue they get over whelmed. As someone who got his shelf packed with Nemesis and more on the way, I'm very interested in this question. Does this game offer anything more that Nemesis doesn't? Which one left the better impression?
@winghong3Ай бұрын
I honestly think that once enemies start engaging, and you get into using the guns, rationing bullets and managing your character's stats (stress and adreadaline), THAT part of the fight is definitely better than Nemesis. I think the current prototype Enormity's issue is that combat takes too long to start and they are too infrequent. The enemy pressure needs to be higher on the design. That, or need to introduce more environmental hazards to keep the tension up.

Just to add to my own question. The main draw for me at the moment is that it plays on a single huge spaceship.

These are completely different games. After playing I wouldn’t equate the two. Does a disservice to both games.
@MeetMeAtTheTableАй бұрын
This is a great conversation because I can see where this may fill the same space. I think GamesBrigade has said what I would have. But here are some takeaways. 2 of the biggest things that this game has going for me that makes me want both of these in my collection is 1. It has a very established and expansive campaign system built in. Which is going to be super awesome!!!! 2. I feel there is more excitement to explore the locations as to Nemesis were you are searching the ship for the right room to enact your objective. Nemesis is more linear in all aspects compared to this game. I was worried that the blips were going to distract from the emersion but I liked the way they did them. This is a prototype and I will pass this feed back onto Into the Unknown they seem to be very active with the community to have them help craft games. After ATO I have faith that this game will be super fun when it delivers. Thank you all for the great comments
@GoodEggGuyАй бұрын
I watched this and Mike's video on One Stop Coop Shop and... it feels dull. Love ATO so had high hopes but maybe it's the setting (regular space suits and scanners rather than cool far-future tech) or maybe it's the hours spent pushing blip tokens around (and taking generic "move 2" actions), but the gameplay isn't grabbing me. I hope the boss fight will be up to the standards of ATO or better, at least.
@winghong3Ай бұрын
I am of the opinion that they should have made the game rules like Space Hulk. Spawn the blips directly into corridors or rooms instead of "out of bound" space. Then drop in model enemies as soon as they are within line of sight. I think the game can dramatically improve in atmosphere as soon as there is enemy pressure from turn 1.
@xtopherrothgery4905Ай бұрын
I guess the idea is supposed to be it's dark inside the ship so you don't know what a blip is until it's on top of you? Though that seems to be contradicted at times by the story description. It would be interesting if they upped the power level of weapons and it was a constant battle to move across the map.

At end of turn 1 you talk about not knowing what the letter and number on the scanner card is used for. Since its called a patrol. Are you sure the blips move towards a character at that part and not just towards the space in the center of the card? That would make the word Patrol make more sense :) Or that the card is placed on that field instead of on the character and then the enemies move based on that spot: EDIT: Just checked the rulebook doesnt seem like it no :D

IMO, not much tension or suspense because blips (monsters) take too long to reach characters, and too easy to avoid blips (monsters). Therefore, combat is too infrequent. Also, you dont get spacer tokens at the end of everg turn, u only get them when u use an adrenaline action. As soon as u use an adrenaline action and move your bar up one space, then u grab any tokens to the left of the bar and put them in the incoming pool, so some turns u will not have any tokens, .akes u really think about which character to use in what order and what action to use to get tokens, makes the game more suspensful and difficult
