Happy belated birthday BJ, welcome to those teenage years Dad's 🫣🫢🤫! Putting my two cents in on the movie .. I read the Color Purple and it's one of my favorite books of all time! The accolades that it has received are well-deserved, ergo it did not win The Pulitzer Prize just because! When I heard that Steven Spielberg would be the director of the original Color Purple movie adaptation... my first thought was, there's no way he will do it justice. Yet, he proved me wrong in huge ways. It was simply amazing! It is my favorite movie in my list of top 10 movies ever. I saw the Broadway production with Fantasia, and thought it was okay (she seemed overwhelmed, but there could have been other factors at play) I wasn't overly impressed. Saw this reimagined version on 12/26, and will say it's much better than the Broadway version as I remember it. Fantasia seemed ready, and able to handle the role of Celie! In the original Steven Spielberg took more time to show us how the relationship between all the women developed, which in turn gives Celie her voice and outward strength! I absolutely adored the musical choices, and all those ladies "sang" even Taraji, I was shocked!!! The book is still my favorite of them all, but I enjoy reading most. Great vlog as usual guys, I enjoyed... 🥰
