One thing I put in my locker is a sweatshirt, just incase it gets chilly during school. You should also have an extra copy of your schedule in your locker for the first few weeks of school. I’m going into my last year of middle school (8th grade) and you have nothing to be afraid of!

Brielle, I had some far away classes too. If I didn’t have enough time to get back to my locker to get my book for the next class, I would just take what I needed for my next class with me to my first class and then go back to my locker after that. I graduated in 1967 and we didn’t have backpack back then, so we always carried our books and went to our lockers in-between class if we had enough time without being tardy. Good luck. It will take about a week to get use to it. Then there’s trying to figure out when’s the best time to go to the ladies restroom between classes. Time is everything. Hope you have a fun time this year and study hard. There are a lot of clicks in middle school and high school. Just be yourself, be friendly to everyone and you will go far.

Schools usually give a few days to get lost and late to class. You normally carry your books for the classes before lunch because there's usually no time in between classes to go to locker. Good luck, Brielle.

Bre, some middle/high schools in California have a set of textbooks for classroom use, and a set for home use for each student. That way, they don't have to carry the heavy books around. Brielle’s hair is adorable! The schools normally give the kids the first week or two to get used to where classes are and time between classes. Most kids are lost and late to class. After, the first week she will have it figured out! She will do great.

Oh my. In our middle schools they have a wing for each grade. Save for 2 hours a day where they have electives, which may be upstairs or across the school. Lockers are almost never used. *our school district is quite large, I work at the high school and we have 3,000 students.

when I did my first year of middle school, I did not use my locker at all other than using my gym locker but once I moved to different school that had only 4 classes for half the year and another 4 for the other half of the year, we spent 90 mins in each class

You could always get a locker shelf. She could lay her books on the bottom of her locker then put her backpack on top of the shelf if she finds it difficult to lift her backpack to reach the hooks. As for books, plan ahead and limit the amount of extra stuff you need to carry! Are there any classes that are close enough to her locker that she can just go back and forth to her locker on the way to/from class? I usually had one or two that were near my locker (at least in MS, not so much in HS) and then I obviously had time at lunch too. It’s just a lot of planning! My new school is HUGE. I still haven’t figured out a way to go between my rooms that I work with and carry my stuff since I don’t have an office or classroom. I’m an adult and don’t have it all figured out yet either. 😂

You can go to the school office to ask for a lower locker. The higher lockers are preferred so there should be no problem getting a lower one.

I switched from public school to Catholic school in 5th grade. In 5th grade I switched classrooms, but 6th was in a much larger building. I had a much better experience in public school

The only thing That I Remember is the 1st class they have to go to The music place and the basement And maybe when I'm outside I'll find the cafeteria The reason I know that is because are 5th grade class Which is a lot of students getting out of class We went to check out the whole school And you know what's cool My ' didn't hurt that much And the school is huge Also the teachers a probably gonna have to get a bunch of new students cause Almost all Of 5th grade Is going

only 3 MINUTES??? and there's classroom doors that lead outside?? and no backpacks? suddenly i'm thankful my middle school when i was younger was somewhat smaller, we had 5 minutes between each class and nothing led outside plus we were allowed to have backpacks but we used the lockers to switch out binders/get our lunch etc now i'm editing this i kinda get..where the no backpack rule is coming from😕 it sounds like more of a safety thing so kids can't hide YAKNOW WHAT in their bags😕
