Thank you for making these! All are awesome. Would be great to have an episode focused at mixdown. E.g. how do you make your tracks clean, punchy and loud at the same time - but going deep into the topic.

What is your mindset about "heavy" compression and loudness in general for such an aggressive genre? Would love to see how you approach those things...

Thanks for taking the time to show some of your projects mate. I'm quiet curious about how do you make your groove in your tracks, particularly the bass in relation to the drums. The midi notes from your bass, do you apply some midi grooves, like from MPC for example, or extract some other grooves from other sources ? Or do you just draw notes manually till you get something that has a good groove ? Also do you design synth bass patches first, then write a riff with it, or do you write a riff then tweak the synth afterwards till you get something you like ? Hope you understand what I mean. Big ups!!

I see Mefjus in the studio, I click. Wish he would go into sound design and his post pluggin programing a little more. Or go more in depth on his send fx, seems like they create 70% of the vibe.

Said it before, will say it again, would LOVE a look into your Serum patches, bass specifically.. Great content.

LimiterNo6 making an appearance again. I remember when Hive first mentioned that Clipper trick with it long ago. I like the mix of old an new production on this tune. They all contribute to the vibe in a wonderful way, which is not an easy task to do!

man, break and Mefjus are absouloute beasts at production, be a fan of break since way back, im a bit later in finding mefjus, but he instantly made my top producer lists along with the likes of BSE, prolix, audio, noisia, bad company....one of the greats!

This is the most informative production breakdowns I've seen in a long time, by one of the dnb sound design gods himself. Can't thank you enough for all of this useful knowledge, look forward to the next episode

i got really fed up with DnB in september after years of producing and DJing, hosting a radio show and not really getting where i wanted to. And i haven't really listened to any since then, but this track and Transit i just had to listen to. Very invigorating and inspiring :)

Dude, bit late to this but man how this helps me. As a cubase user myself, I'd just like to know what sample rate you work at and what spec your PC is. The more serum instances I add affects the performance but I'm working at a high bit rate so was just wondering how you get all those tracks and instances not killing your machine 👍

Why do you have two pieces of tape on your second monitor?
@bangerstudy4 жыл бұрын
I think it helps to reference where the sub and high frequencies should be visually on the frequency analyser, it may still be the same monitor he used in his 2013 masterclass (DigitalLabz)

So... he brought samples of Sine waves? What's the point, why bother?
@teilocadogan78414 жыл бұрын
he probably has them in his sample library and they were just scrolling through what he had and thought they'd give that try. Not just like man you should hear this mad sine wave I've got
@DroptekOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Also a sine sampled from a virus ti has a different vibe than an 'in the box' sine. Had lots of dirt to it which came up nicely with plugins
