Great interview! Can we safely say that the Aussie women‘s 4x100 relay was the best freestyle relay line-up ever assembled? The only one coming close was probably the one from the 2004 Olympics. And let‘s not forget that Meg Harris also swam the fastest 100m split of the whole meet. I always had a bit of an armchair psychology idea on why Australia is so dominant in freestyle: maybe because kids tend to swim more in the ocean, there is a tendency to bring the crawling style to perfection. In many European countries, the default swimming style is usually breaststroke and you tend to swim in pools and lakes rather than the open sea.
