@@Philthornnahh man, Hades is like Lobo from Puss in Boots. Mostly just doing his job ruling the underworld. Compare that to Zeus who shagged every woman he thought was hot, in both human and animal form. Those women couldn’t do anything but accept his downstairs thunderbolt, and then had to face the wrath of Hera and suffer. Or Aphrodite who had people who she thought were competing with her beauty a bad rest of their lives.

@@iratetrolls if you were to translate the phrase "I am retired" verbatim to Greek it would be "Είμαι συνταξιούχος" which is two words yes but no one would say it like that. When referring to being retired ppl in Greece will usually say "Έχω βγει στη σύνταξη" which is four words and would translate to something like "I am in retirement". Especially in the context of that scene using the first phrase would be completely odd and sound out of place whereas ppl use the second phrase a lot of the time in a similar context- to say I'm retired in a frustrated or like "I'm so done" way. It's an honest mistake and I think it was started by a post on tumblr (I've certainly seen it before) but that's the problem with using Google translate; it won't give you an accurate representation of how ppl actually speak in [insert language here] because it completely ignores phrases that are used to replace the "proper" or "grammatically correct" ig you could say way of saying things. Ppl (at least in my experience) will very rarely if at all use the first phrase to refer to themselves as being retired (may be somewhat more commonly used for referring to a third person). Anyhow I get how ppl might think it's a fun fact but it's pretty inaccurate, because it completely ignores context and how ppl naturally speak and just goes of translating the words. (Also you could argue that it can be two words in English anyway if you say "I'm retired" instead of "I am retired" but that's another thing). Anyway sorry for the long comment I have an unhealthy love for linguistics.

In French (my native language), if I remember well Phil says "J'ai. Pris. Ma retraite", which would count as 5 words. But I think that he says "three words" instead of the "two words" in English, so I'd guess that in other languages they also make sure to make the "count" wrong.

This isn't a reaction request, because that's not the kind of reactor you are. You do movies. Just for your own personal entertainment and learning. :) You'll get the real story of Hades somewhere in that playlist as well as a mini-rant about how more modern stories have always interpreted Hades as some sort of Satan figure, when he's not at all like that in the actual Greek myths.

You need to see Disney’s The Great Mouse Detective! It’s the movie that saved Disney animated films after one of their biggest bombs (The Black Cauldron), and made films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin possible! 😎

If you want to learn about Greek mythology I highly recommend Mythos by Stephen Fry. Specifically the audiobook since he reads it himself and the comedic timing and suave sarcasm are perfect. 👌

This is my cousin's favorite movie, and everytime I see it I think of him. He's autistic, and I'm pretty sure his favorite line from the movie is when the titans are marching toward Olympus, saying they'll freeze Zeus and all that. Not sure why, but he always chants it when we watch Hercules together. 😂 But thank you for posting this reaction, you have made my day. ❤

The moments when Phil chases the nymphs and flirts with Meg and Aphrodite actually correspond the Greek mythology, for satires were usually described as very cheeky and fickle (by the way, Pan's flute as a whistle is cool, as for me)

Sunny side-up is my favorite, but I usually end up soft-boiling them for convenience. I can literally eat 4 eggs and rice for any meal of the day and be jolly. lol As historically inaccurate as the movie is, I absolutely love it. Just so entertaining and heart-warming. My favorite quote: "Father, this is the moment I've always dreamed of. But... A life without Meg, even an immortal life, would be empty."

Meg is one of my favorite Disney girls together with Mulan, Pocahontas and Jane from Tarzan. By the way you should make a reaction video to Pocahontas, I know it's historically VERY inaccurate but I still love it! Also if you want more Greek mythology inspired stuff I can recommend Troy (2004). I would love to see a reaction from you to that as well! Love your videos!

In Greek mythology, Héra is Zeus' wife but also his sister (and not Hercules' mother). Zeus is married to Héra but he also have a lot of mistresses which with he had a lot of children (the majority are others Gods of the Olympus). Oh, and the best for the end : Hades is his brother

In order to properly kill a Hydra you have to destroy its heart. If you cut off any of its heads it will just grow it back with 2 more in it's place. Also be mindful, some Hydras have *extremely* poisonous blood. Hercules idea to use an avalanche to kill it was clever as it would have crushed everything. Including the beasts heart. Also that Hydra gave me horrid nightmares as a kid and as an adult I still visible shrink anytime I see it on screen. It just makes my brain yell *"NOPE!!"*

So, regarding Greek Mythology, just remember that this is DISNEY'S Hercules. There's a lot of... stuff glossed over. Might I suggest Overly Sarcastic Production's videos on Greek Mythology! They even summarise the Herculese story! ... Minus the gospel choir, sadly.

@@paulinecharlat2982 oh the having children with your siblings doesn't just feature Zeus/Hera and Kronos/Rhea. It even goes back another generation with Ouranos/Gaea, the parents of the titans. Not to mention that Poseidon slept with his sister Demeter as a horse. Well, slept with isn't the right term, its much more forceful and I would probably get reported for spelling it so I'll give you a hint: has 4 letters, starts with r
