MEGA BLOKS (stop motion) Tutorial

Here is a stop motion tutorial, using Mega Bloks or Mega Construx, that covers walk cycles, basic fighting techniques, and animating tips. Hopefully these techniques can be used for you to make your own awesome toymations!

Thanks for the tutorial! But I would like to give you a little tip. For walking you should bend the figures leg (the one that's moving). Because in real life that is how people walk, so it would help your animations look more realistic. Oh and those fighting parts were perfect!

Also a good tip try and bend your characters torso forwards when it's running to make it just a bit more realalostic.

Great tutorial! For some sequences bending the elbow joint instead of the shoulder one gives a much smoother and realistic movement.

That doesn’t seem really realitstic but it’s pretty smooth you should try to give emotion to the mouvements it would be really better and entertaining to watch good luck on your future creations ;)

3 questions What FPS do you use, how do you edit out the translucent pole in post, and what camera do you use?

Most KZbin animators use 15fps so I’d assume he does as well

To edit out the pile you first take a photo of the scene without anything on it and then once you are done animating you crop out where the pole is frame by frame and use the blank picture of the scene as the background

What do you use for gun effects you know. Like the flash when the gun shoot every time. I always use cotton when they shoot

I use Hitfilm Express (its free!) for the muzzle flashes but yeah you can also use cotton, clay or brick pieces on the end of the guns Some new Halo Mega sets have an actual muzzle flash piece in their weapons packs which also would work perfectly!
