Oh my goodness!!! So many adorable vintage decorations. I am a very vintage orientated Christmas style and have been making my own for many years. Being born and bred in the UK, a lot of people are inspired by the Victorian style Christmas, particularly from the Charles Dickens book 'A Christmas Carol'. As children we used to spend hours making paper chains and squashed up newspapers covered with tin foil (the stuff you cook your turkey in). Then we would add pictures to it from whatever mum had in her weekly magazine. We didn't have much money in our house but with mum and dad's stories of their Christmases and singing carols and songs as we made our little things. Christmas always seemed magical. We just used whatever we found around the house or on our walks with dad in the park. In those days decorations and craft supplies were not the best quality and home made things were treasured more. As a young teenager my father made a little cattle shed and manger to make a nativity scene in. Mum made the clothes for the little figures Dad carved. Sadly the figures have gone now they got damaged in a move and never got remade but the shed and manger has survived and I got it when I left home as I was always the one to set it up with little stories etc. I use it every single year and although the original figures aren't there, the shed brings back so many memories and nostalgic feelings. Christmas does that when you believe!

Stringing popcorn! And my dad making star out of cardboard and aluminium foil with a hole in the middle for the light. All of us kids would hold our breath when he topped our tree with it..... We would turn off the lights so excited. We would made homemade ornaments. We never had much, but we never cared my mom always made it so exciting. Ah memories! Thank you all you do and care. By from Idaho!!!!

I love all of your DIYs so keep on keeping on! I am an old woman, born in 1947, so the vintage look brings back many memories. We didn't have the silver tree with the color wheel, but my Mother flocked the tree every year. Bless her heart, it was such a mess, but she never gave up.

The so are all absolutely gorgeous! I live in a Victorian house, it was built in 1865. I really, really LOVE your videos because your projects are for adults. I don't have any children at home anymore and my grandkids live three states away. Hubby and I drive to Virginia to spend Christmas with our son and his family, but I like to have adult decorations at home and vintage and Victorian is perfect. Thank you so much 💕

Back in the 40’s, 50’s and early 60’s people didn’t decorate the interior of their homes for Christmas as we do today. It was generally a Christmas tree, a Nativity scene and some big, outlandish item. That is it. That is why they were gaudy, over the top, because that was it to make the house festive for the season. I love the Gorilla Glue and E6000. Don’t know what I would do without it.

I remember when my mother bought one of those "tin foil trees" with the rotating color wheel. I was so upset because I wanted a real tree. It was such a pain to put up. You had to take each branch out of the paper sleeve and poke the end in the holes in the silver trunk. Putting it away was just as time consuming. As much as I hated it then, I wish I had it now. I love the vintage ornaments.
