If you core the cabbages and freeze the entire head for 5 hours or so, you can take them out of freezer, thaw them and then peel off the leaves. You won’t need to precook them and they will peel,off and be flexible, saving you a step. 💕

Please explain a little further. Why would freezing them and thawing them back to room temp make them more flexible than if you didn’t freeze them? Does the freezing process do some thing?

My Italian grandma taught me how to make almost all the Italian recipes i know….instead of meat sauce she would use a marinara sauce and make teeny tiny meatballs to layer in the lasagna…. I was taught in Home Ec to always crack my eggs into a dish before putting it in my recipe. Of course my Home Ec days were over 50 years ago and I would guess even the store bought eggs could have been questionable 😂😂😂😂. I still do it to this day. Old habits are hard to break
@virginiamesko6369
@virginiamesko6369 Жыл бұрын
The reasons for not cracking an egg directly into what you are cooking, is so you can catch any bits of shell or blood spots that might be in the eggs. If you have added a blooded egg into a cake mix, for instance, you will have ruined the entire mix. If you check it on the side you can just pitch the egg out and your mix is still usable.

In my experience not cooking the lasagna noodles first works even better when you make a freezer meal. The noodles get to spend more time with the sauce. Meld and get friendly. So yummy. My mother and I have been making our lasagnas like that - without cooking the noodles first since she started cooking for her new husband in the '70s - it has always worked fine. Merry Christmas!!

I don't buy the oven ready ones either. Just regular noodles, layer them up and freeze them until it's time to use. They work out great and it's one less step.

None of my 6 kids even knew they were eating them. 12 years ago I had a friend gift us 2 cases of egg plant. And what a blessing. I made it with regular sauce, cheese and meat and I had no left overs. Now it's a traditional Christmas eve favorite. Maybe slice and dehydrate them... that sounds amazing!

When I make lasagna ahead of time to freeze, I just put in regular noodles uncooked! It works great.

Yes!!! I've seen Brian Regan live! My hubby surprised me for Christmas 2015 with tickets. He was a favorite of mine as a teen and still as an adult.

I love carrot and zucchini strips raw. I love the extra crunch. I will try the cabbage that sounds so good. God bless.

White sauce lasanga with chicken or seafood, regular red sauce with chicken instead of beef, and also try sausage lasagna in red or white sauce! 👌🏽👌🏽💖💖 and i think the sausage one would be amazing with the cabbage way you do it!

I can't wait to try the cabbage lasagna. I love cabbage anything but Stan doesn't. What he doesn't know is that sometimes he eats it camouflaged as something else. I do the same with mushrooms. I love vegetables and he likes green beans, corn and peas. As you know there are so many more delicious veggies to be had. Before someone corrects me I know that mushrooms are not vegetables. He just won't eat them unless I camouflage it.

Jamerrill this video was great. I love your lasagna because you use smaller amounts of sauce and many layers of pasta. We Italian's make it this way....the star of the show is always the pasta, not the sauce or cheese....although the cheese topping is the best bit 🤭 Another tip to get off permanent marker pen is to spray hairspray on it. It should just wipe right off. God bless you and your beautiful family. Paula in the UK 🇬🇧

Those egg shells are good to add to the base of the hole your planting in. Tomatoes love egg shells. Merry Christmas to you and your family. God bless ❤️
