I am a little bit more skeptical. Music,graphics and sound seem like a Japanese Master System with the FM Soundchip. Batman from Sunsoft with the same 4MBit cartridge did a better job in my opinion.

I remember playing Last Battle as a kid. I had a love-hate relationship with the game. I found parts of it to be very cool, but Christ, was it hard. I only ever got as far as the end of chapter 2. Falco kicked my ass every time. 'n with no extra lives or continue system, it meant having to play the game from the beginning again, just to get another shot. It was the first game to make me experience nerd rage :p

Sega games had some blood and gore. Look at The Immortal on Sega Genesis, it had blood and gore. Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis had a blood code. So, they have a problem with this game? The Genesis is targeted at a more mature demographic.

one day in like 2007 or so i looked through my genesis roms and there was a game called "fistn" and i was like "haha this game is called fisting!" and opened it. then i saw these exploding guys from kicking their shins and stuff and found it absolutely hilarious! however i found out it was based on some franchise and to these day i am a huge hokuto fan and love the series

I guess my only real gripe with now is this game is the warehouse-like stages with all the flying axes, spears, arrows and pot holes all over the place!! I mean how the hell were supposed to know where to go?! What ceilings/floors to jump into?! You'd need a map for that crap!! Atleast in those levels it looks like the stage timer doesn't go down?!! And you'd need that trying to get out of those levels without getting lost in those hole levels!! Cheers for the play through!!

during the ending there's a real emotional scene between Kenshiro and Kaioh and one of the other bosses Hyoh..... In the series this is based on. In this, at least quadrupily so in a version you can't read, this story aspect was lost.

I had the Genesis version. (Us) That shit had no blood in it and i got it when it first dropped 89. I did not know it was Hokuto no ken until the Early 90's. Hey i was like 9 in 89 lol!! All i remeber was this was a great game and got hard as hell when you got to boat.

Well, I don't know what you've seen since you didn't say. But off the top of my head, there are the first two series, Souten no Ken which stars Ken's uncle in the 1930s, Ten no Haoh which stars Raoh and shows his rivalry with Souther, Shin Hokuto no Ken which takes place after the original manga, and various side stories starring Raoh, Toki, Jagi, Yuria, Juuza, Rei... not sure if I'm missing anyone.

For some reason I have a strange urge to play this?! I think at times we were all kinda abit to hard on Hokuto No Ken/Last Battle?! Yeah the stages go on endlessly, you don't where to go via the underground sublevels and the lack of health pickups or even a continue option really hurts it at times. But it's an early MD game and it's graphics and music are kinda pleasant at best. And the english translation is hilarious also.

Major problem I have with Fist of the North Star being made a beat-em up? Considering that Ken can make any mook explode with one finger just kills the challenge. Especially since this game just have him take out a mook with one attack, makes it challengeless to be honest.

I still have it, and I haven't touched it in quite some time but I sadly never finished it either for the same reason. I wish we could've had it this style instead of the enemies flying off-screen. There is a code to restart at the stage you're at. Just press A+B+C & start at the word "Legend of the Final Hero" at least.
