I used to play it alot with my step dad, in the time when everyone already had PS1, I had only my Sega mega drive 2 and I'm happy that I was able to experience such a great game instead.

I played both and I agree. Snes version is much better, longer gameplay, more enemies, better sound effects, etc. It was much similar to the arcade version. The Genesis version was like a reduced simplified verison.

Here's the issue with this game, and it falls on Konami squarely, instead of going with an 8 meg cart, Konami cheaped out and went with a 4 meg cart. There was a fan remake of this game being worked on to bring it closer to the arcade, but I have not heard progress on it in about a year or so. From what I could see, they went with a bigger ROM size, and was able to fit more into it. The question is, did it become vaporware, or is it still being worked on? Long and short of this, Konami were lazy and cheap on this game.
