Believe it or not, I actually loved this game. It was the first game I owned for my SNES (right next to Super Mario World which the console came with), and I used to play the hell out of it. Sadly though, I could never beat this game. But its awesome to see someone else play through this game so I can see the ending.

Exactly, and perhaps they were going for that look because of their connection, Idk. Dudes had a buncha variations of his costume. But the best for all of them was from 1990 onward ^

Had a love and hate relationship with this game. I have it for the SNES and didn’t know it was on the genesis as well. Watching it here I can say the SNES is absolutely better in gameplay, graphics and music over the genesis version. But it was fun watching the genesis version here to see what it was like. The game was so hard, I only mastered the gambit levels which were my favorite. I still remember the neighborhood kids play and be killed then watch me play it and be in shock I beat the levels quick and without any hits. That rolling ball was awesome and scared all the kids who played 😂. Storm’s level was frustrating and gave people phobias. The perfect level for her personal issue she can’t cope with. It gave players anxiety. Cyclops level was horrible because of how you had to land in the mine carts a certain way to not fall on tracks and be killed and shoot perfectly the mines or be killed. The level would have been easy if dying a million times over those stupid carts didn’t get in the way and if cyclops could actually shoot in all directions which he can’t. For some reason cyclops seems to get stuck or freeze in a position you last left him at like when he’s crouching and you have to press the directional pad a second time to get him where you need to move to. This gets in the way of progressing easily and dodging enemy fire. Not sure if these issues were on the genesis game as well. Wolverines level gave chills on the SNES. The music the feel the clown laughs and effects and juggernaut creeping up close behind you and you keep looking over your shoulder for the stalker and can never seem to get away is the stuff of nightmares. On genesis it’s not the same. The genesis players got cheated as they recycled the same music from gambit for wolverine. Overall, I love the feel and sound and music of this game. It has a classic 70’s super hero vibe. Like the old super hero shows on tv. Or even a 70’s porn music at times. The game was also awesome of how it was a villain putting all the members in their own related phobias and life circumstances to overcome. It even gave players the anxiety they might feel. Not sure if anyone noticed this. Well done Arcade… No pun intended. I still recall the order to collect the spread out switch devices on Spider-Man’s stages to progress, the only thing that was annoying of the game was having to do that stage first to reach the other players stage select screen. But I guess it’s fitting for the story since it’s about Spider-Man trying to reach and help save the X-men.

I rented this from a video store back in the '90s. I was able to get past the first level, but I immediately got slaughtered onwards. This was by far the worst game I ever played in my life.

I'm guessing the Mega Drive was an earlier version for the system and(I can be wrong as well) the SNES version assisted in what needed improvement and give each character their own soundtrack for the environment of the stages they must complete; which makes sense when you "put two and two together". Just the facts.

Still have my SNES cart! I could only beat it with abusing an infinite lives glitch with Gambit (being offscreen and above a collectable constantly collects it). You could farm like 3-5 1-UPs per life with it
