I used to watch this almost every night back when I was about 5-6 years old. Can't believe I finally found it again. Love it.

The producers of this vid dropped a few knackers; Chally 1 gun weighing 18 tons, the chiffy being over dubbed with a CV12, Warrior only capable of 65kph, etc but this is still a belting visual feast for anyone who loves British Army vehicles. Many thanks Lucy!!.

I love that line "even the faithful chieftain can sometimes breakdown" 😂😂 I'm guessing they didn't tell the narrator about the old chiefs favourite party trick 😂😂 never the less thanks for uploading this was a real nostalgia trip from my favourite childhood series

I loved this programme as a child, around 6 years old, used to watch it all the time. With the timing of this show, I suspect the exercise demonstrated in this episode, was one of the last for the Chieftain, as that same year 1995 it was withdrawn from service in the UK. And the Challenger 1 would be superseded by the Challenger 2 only 2 years after this, with the Challenger 1 main battle tank going out of service in 2001 6 years later. it's possible that some of the vehicles still remain in service that took part. The Repair and recovery challenger 1 still remains in service although i am not sure about the one shown here. I am amazed at how incredibly versatile these now pieces of history are, even with todays standard.

Thanks so much for uploading this, although are you sure it was released in ‘95 as I spotted what looked like a CR2 driver training tank in the hanger clip at the beginning which didn’t enter service until 1998.

ur welcome :) according to what i could find it was originally released on 3rd april 1995 for VHS and then re-released on 9th march 1998. it then had a DVD release, which is what this video was taken from, on 22nd july 2002. there doesnt seem to be any difference in the actual videos from 1995 and 1998 apart from some logos and the opening of the 1995 release: Video Collection International: Mega Machines promo from 1995 (long version) [announced by Richard Pearce]. i will change the date in the title to 1998 since that is what the dvd was originally based from :) aside from that i believe all actual video of the vehicles was from 1995 or around that time. there isnt much information online sadly but i do see the vehicle ur talking about, though both the challenger 1 & 2 dtt look very similar. i had put 1995 in the title because that is when the original vehicle footage is from but 1998 would be more accurate according to when it was originally released :)
